Poll: Nearly Half the Country Wants Universal Basic Income
The economy is booming. But it won’t be for long, if radical leftism keeps gaining steam:
Political philosopher and economist Karl Widerquist, an associate professor at Georgetown University in Qatar, remembers a poll from 10 years ago that showed just 12 percent of Americans approved of a universal basic income.
That’s changed — and quickly. Today, 48 percent of Americans support it, according to a new Northeastern University/Gallup survey of more than 3,000 U.S. adults.
What you pay for, you get more of. Pay people for nothing and you will get more nothing; that is, they will work less, placing an ever-greater tax burden on the shrinking percentage of suckers who pull the cart instead of riding in it.
This Marxist crazy talk isn’t just for economically dysfunctional cities like Stockton anymore. According to the poll, 54% of Americans aged 18–35 think everyone should be paid with other people’s money just for breathing. You can see where all the Democrat screeching about income inequality is taking us.
Not long ago, Venezuela was the wealthiest country in Latin America. Then came socialism. Now, starving Venezuelans break into zoos to eat the animals. It could happen here.

Perhaps they would work if they got paid enough to make it worth bothering for.
Asking for enough pay to live on with a 40 hour week is hardly too much to ask.
Which, in our society where health care is outragious and insurance doesn’t really insure you even though you are required to pay a fortune for it, and you are required to save for retirement because they are trying to take retirement away , and a one bedroom apartment in a bad neighborhood can be up to 1,000 bucks a month, should be about 40 bucks an hour.
The reason we make shit in this country and the service industry sucks, and cable and phones and everything else has horrible customer service is because you get what you pay for.
You pay people shit, and shit is what you get.
This is all bullshit. What happened to Venezuela, a country that already had socialist style government, is that the united states got involved in their business. Which is a death knell to any country it happens to.
