I have read the “Huckleberry Finn”. I am a Finn. The Finns are known about that they are drunk as Huckleberry’s father was. So was my father also. Therefore, I assimilated Huckleberry a lot when I read the book in my boyhood. I understand well why Mark Twain picked up such a person for his book. He wanted to find a colorful personality. Huckleberry was not drunk and I am not either. Huckleberry’s father drowned before his due time in Mississippi River while being drunk, obviously. My father died before his due time for a stroke. Otherwise, my fate has been totally different. Still, I loved to read the book as well as other books of Mark Twain. They have been translated to Finnish also among many other languages.
