California Muslim accused of attempting to join ISIS arrested in Tunisia

Even though it has suffered territorial losses, the Islamic State (ISIS) continues to be appealing to some Muslims, even Muslims in the United States. What is never discussed in news stories such as this one is where Bernard Raymond Augustine, who is apparently a convert to Islam, learned his understanding of Islam. Where was he recruited for ISIS? Are authorities going to wave this question away by claiming he was “radicalized on the Internet”? That may be so, but if so, why was it even possible? If he learned peaceful Islam at his mosque in California, and if that is true Islam, why was he even susceptible to Internet radicalization? Has his mosque been investigated? Why not?

Court records revealed he told US customs officials upon departure he was intending to travel to Tunisia for vacation….

A search of his computer revealed a song that extols ISIS and messages Augustine allegedly sent praising the terror group.
