The Danger of AI and Algorithms to the Church and Western Civilization

Probably everyone who uses the internet to any extent realizes that Google and Facebook know all about you.  The ads they serve you and the news you see is based upon what you last viewed.

Were you just looking for a baseball cap?  Then the next time you do a search online, it is likely that baseball cap ads will show up sprinkled in among the article you are reading.

This is the danger to western civilization.  As fewer and fewer people are schooled in the Word of God and principles of God, as they do searches on the internet, the truth will not be presented to them.  Did they just view an article on abortion?  same sex marriage?  Then more of the same will be served.  There will never be a realization that marriage is between a  man and a woman or that God’s first commandment to mankind was to “be fruitful”.  In other words, only darkness will be presented to those who don’t know any better.   

John 12:35  Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going. 36  While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light.”

This idea of algorithms leading people onto similar algorithms is expressed in this verse.

Revelation 22:11   He who acts unjustly, let him act unjustly still. He who is filthy, let him be filthy still. He who is righteous, let him do righteousness still. He who is holy, let him be holy still.”

Another example.  Without the teaching “if a man will not work, neither shall he eat”, it is possible to convince a population that God is for socialism or Communism.

Without “thou shall not steal” it is possible to convince a population that the taking of private property is justified.

The teaching of the Word of God and its ramifications in the social, economic, moral, family and total world of men, not just within the four walls of the church, must be taught.  Otherwise, algorithms and AIs will lead mankind into greater and greater darkness.  An algorithm or AI will lead each individual, by their own choices, to the next step into darkness.  All the while, people will believe that they have free will and free choice.
