Chocolate Is Offensive to the Planet

No wonder the righteous SJWs who run Google offered no acknowledgment whatsoever of the most important day on the Christian calendar on its homepage yesterday. Because it often involves chocolate, Easter is hurtful to the environment:

Beware the chocolate Easter bunny, and those foil-wrapped chocolate eggs. Both could be “bad for the environment” warns a new study, which says that such confections can damage the environment.

Researchers at The University of Manchester in England have identified “the carbon footprint of chocolate and its other environmental impacts,” analyzing such factors as ingredients, manufacturing processes, packaging and waste. Yes, cow gas emissions are cited in the research, which was released Friday.

Cocoa is grown in Africa and South America, where its cultivation creates employment. However, importing it is bad because transporting goods makes it be too hot out according to liberal ideology.

“It’s not only the cocoa — it’s also the milk powder used to make milk chocolates. Its production is very energy intensive, plus dairy cows produce significant greenhouse gas emissions per liter of milk produced. This all adds to the environmental impacts of chocolate,” the study said.

According to the researchers, it takes about 265 gallons of water to make a single chocolate bar. Why invent this number and not some other? Because it is converted from a nice round 1,000 liters.

Liberal dogma also holds that water is not a renewable resource; once consumed, it is gone forever, so that eventually the planet will dry into dust and blow away on the wind if we don’t stop eating Easter candy.

The study was actually published in an academic journal, Food Research International. We may have yet another example of research finding what the moonbat bureauweenies who dole out government grants want it to find.
