DEA to Share Painkiller Prescription Information With 46 States +Video
By Jim Kouri / Conservative Base
Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced yesterday that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has reached a prescription drug information-sharing agreement Attorneys General of 46 states and two U.S. territories.
“Better information means better decisions,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said. “Today’s agreement with 48 Attorneys General will give DEA and the states alike more information they can use to prosecute the criminals who are contributing to our national drug emergency. That means more prosecutions and ultimately fewer drugs on our streets. Would-be criminals should be warned: we are now better equipped than ever to find the fraudsters who are fueling our nation’s addiction crisis.”
“This partnership provides an unprecedented opportunity to use DEA and state resources and information to jointly combat pill diversion https://youtu.be/1RMJIV3o6uIand trafficking,” said DEA Acting Administrator Robert W. Patterson.
“We are losing far too many Americans to opioid abuse and addiction. I salute these states for their proactive efforts and know they will make a significant difference as we attack this epidemic across the country,” Patterson noted.
DEA has reached an agreement with Attorneys General from 46 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia to share prescription drug information with one another in order to aid investigations. DEA’s Automation of Reports and Consolidated Orders System (ARCOS) system collects some 80 million transaction reports every year from manufacturers and distributors of prescription drugs.
DEA will provide the Attorneys General with that data, and the states will provide their own information, often from prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs) to DEA. Under the agreement, both state and federal law enforcement will have more information at their disposal to find the tell-tale signs of crime.

While they should go after drug dealers and bad doctors what you don’t hear about is people like me that have legitimate reasons that require opioids to get thru the day. None of my many doctors (neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapy specialist etc) will write for opioids because of the draconian rules they have set in place, you have to go to pain management. Before I had to stop working I had no insurance and my appointment cost $255 every month for this visit, imagine if diabetics had to pay that amount to get their insulin, would there be public outrage about that? In addition to that I get treated like a criminal for medical conditions, I am subjected to random urine tests and pill counts and have never done a thing wrong. Personally I would like to take a baseball bat to the “representatives” telling doctors how to do their job and then tell them to take a tylenol for the pain. We hear about the opioid abuse deaths but how many people do you think are killing themselves or turning to street drugs for relief from the chronic pain?
Cracking down on prescription drugs and doctors will only fuel a monster black market. Much of these drugs are already coming from China through Canada. The lucrative void will be filled by criminal drug dealers like all other banned substances have been. LOL, like the Marijuana ban has worked so well.
