It’s about damn time! Some of us have been discussing this even before 9/11 and most definitely since. We have instead turned this into a war on Religion depending on whose side you are on. Perverted Christianity on one side and perverted Islam on the other with all those millions of peace loving true followers of their perspective Religions caught in the middle.
I know our so called leaders are fond of saying we will fight the extremists wherever they are that means the world is the front in the so called war on terror. We are not winning this so called war on terror it has not even really begun. Our so called leaders and war mongering Republicans are fond of saying that we did nothing to deserve the attack on 9/11 but on the contrary we did everything to deserve it. This has been a long time coming. 1400 years of dissension has come to a head and it will not be quelled easily as you see.
Islam was established by Muhammad in order to give Muslims a formal religion and sense of equality and belonging with the Jews and Christians. It failed and Muslims have never been able to gain equal footing or be willing to accept their role in the worlds society.
The Christian Crusades to take back Jerusalem turned into a blood bath against Muslims. Our nation was born during the enlightenment and industrialization completed a gap between our societies which will never close unless the peace lovers and strict followers of Christianity and Islam reign in the hardliners in both Religion that goes for the so called fundamentalist and others in the now perverted Republican party.
Religion we are told is the savior of societies and the world. However in the past it has been the source of horror to practitioners practicing a different version than the one that felt it was in charge. Today is no different and seemingly getting worse. Religious wars as we know from experience are the longest and the dirtiest.
In the past I have said that the only way this is going to end is if we reign in the extremists. We are actively making at least a token effort to do that but can do much more. Islam however is not doing anything. Osama Bin Laden is solely responsible for all this war death and destruction. He’s no frigging hero to Muslims. They should have hunted him down themselves!
Osama’s war had nothing to do with the sanctity of Islam being violated though it was for centuries. This has nothing to do with Islam or Jihad. This all boils down to communications and I agree but Islamists are not interested in communicating. They are interested in our destruction. violence is their communication.
Islamists stop bringing shame on Islam. Stop killing your own people. Stop bring death and destruction on them. Bin Laden forsook Mullah Omar who invited him into Afghanistan to give him protection. Bin Laden used Afghanistan for his own personal war against the west, the US, and Israel. This is not Islam , this is not Jihad. Restore Muslim integrity, end this now!
Osama now other Islamists are not going to do that as you know so it is up to law abiding Islam to reign them in, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, all of their extremists reaching out with violence to create death and destruction even to the very people they are supposed to be vindicating. Religion like the rest of the world must remember what they are supposed to be about and accepting difference lies in peace. There will be no future unless they all do!
The ultimate destiny of all the Worlds Religions is for them to be finally reconciled with one another and unified into a single whole. The necessary key for the realization of this difficult process is the propagation and wide spread acceptance of the original truth behind all Religion, namely the eternally recurring idea that Everyone is God. The very sad thing about eschatology is that there are those who have made a religion within a religion about it, and who abuse the things God said in order to predict the future.
God gave us insight into the future with prophecies so we would not be confounded by it as it occurs, He did NOT give it to us so we could go around predicting the future with it ourselves.
The only thing “end times prophecy” seems to be doing now is giving zealots and pharisees something to argue among themselves about.
Yeah we are close but people are talking about how I seen this and it led to this number that led to this and so on and that points to such and such time better watch it because what they think is from God may actually be from Satan’s kingdom. People keep putting these times down saying the rapture is going to happen near Easter or whatever can have a negative effect when these dates come and go. It could cause the prophecy where there is a dramatic increase of people saying where is the promise of His coming.
We are on the verge but the exact time is unknowable. We can know the season or in other words the exact generation but we can only watch and wait.
I’ve been very interested in Bible prophecy for a long long time. I can discern the signs of the TIMES to a great deal, to a point where I now know without question we are that generation, but, I didn’t get visions or see dates repeatedly.
Satan will use believers if believers cant discern the wiles and devices of satan (to a higher and higher degree) to further deceive those who haven’t yet got right with God. I mean we have to really understand that Satan has not showed his best cards til he realized the last generation has arrived (whoa to the people of earth for the devil has come down having GREAT (increase of His works) wrath because he know time is short (knows the last generation has begun)). That’s the biggest reason why the world changed and is unique and unlike all the time periods or generations before this one. He is super intelligent and people are not going to notice his most deceptive techniques if they don’t get some days of daily bread. Baby Christians aren’t in danger of losing their souls or being possessed but they are in danger of being manipulated and used by Satan in ways that helps his goals.
This is why God said these days would be perilous. Being that we are approaching tribulation, spiritually it’s beyond what this world has ever seen or will ever see again. The spirit world controls everything and it’s no thing that you take lightly. It’s serious business.
Well, good luck trying to Unite Buddism and Hinduism with it…

Actually, this is true, though not for reasons you see. A person cannot understand the things of God, absent the Spirit of Christ to unveil all truth. So, you’re quite right that scripture, alone, convinces nobody. It’s not really a matter of convincing, rather a person realizing their sin guilt before Holy God, their basic need to repent and the need for salvation, as that same Holy Spirit draws them, you could say pricks the conscience of ones, at least, God has not given up on and allowed to remain hardened, this another subject. But no man comes to God of his own. Pointing out lies versus truths involves simply a presentation of truth, take it or leave it, a rebuke of lies and a warning of perdition for the unrepentant.
The real work is of God, of His Spirit, a gift from God people aren’t talked into, Christianity much more than intellectual understandings of foolish mankind, at that. I can convince nobody of anything, quite right. This is one reason all the debating you see on the web, whether with atheists or fake Christians at each other’s throats, is such a waste. One either sees and understands truth or not, by receiving the force of the Holy Spirit’s leading. No amount of talk can open the eyes and ears of any blind, ever. But God did choose the gospel to reach mankind with His plan, in Christ Jesus, for those who will repent, for those who will respond and seek Him. If a person is “unconvinced”, the seed simply fell on bad ground, which I can’t make grow nor expect to. This is why you’ve never seen me participating in all the grand debates between so-called Christians, with all their disputes over their private, apostate “truths” none agree on, who don’t even really understand 1 Timothy 6:3-5.
Anyway, you didn’t mean it this way, but that’s a fact nobody is “convinced” into anything by simply a multitude of words going back and forth, either seeks God and attains to scripture truth presented of Jesus Christ, or remains blind and deaf to those truths. I don’t expect or have the power to convince anybody of anything. Christianity is not some debate, where anybody is saved by scoring talking points, in the first place. It’s only the Christian’s place to present truth, rebuke lies and warn of consequences, if people don’t like it so sorry, but that’s a personal problem, a very big personal problem we can’t do anything about or expect to do anything about. There’s unconvinced, as you put it, then consequences, a situation way above my pay grade.
As Christians, we even fully expect a backlash form the world, it amusing how trolls online say these blasphemous things, expecting Christians are going to be enraged, as if we’ve never seen it, over and over, and as if scripture doesn’t describe and prophesy everything about the opposition’s behavior: as a matter of fact I’m quite pleased, find great joy, in somebody Satanic with their shorts in a bunch against me: it’s a sign you’ve said something that shook hell, which, to me, is a good day. By the way, not in the millions and millions, but scripture has been responded to by many Muslims that have converted to Christianity. Sure, not the masses of Muslims, but it’s not true that the gospel of scripture has not convinced many Muslims that are now, in fact, Christians, many, many such testimonies from the Muslim world. And some very strong Christians, who’ve suffered in their families and communities as a result, like many Chinese Christians have. Same with Hindus converted, regardless great societal pressure. People have responded to God from all nations and religions, actually, the least responses from the Japanese, not Muslims, who are primarily Shinto, if they are of any religion. But one saved soul, if only one, is precious and worth any effort.
Bottom line, the word of God works by its own power. A person receives it or not. That’s all. I, for one, am not going to debate the basic gospel.
I kind of disagree with this in that, on a superficial level it doesn’t convince anyone.
But there are some prophecies and things in the bible that are quite convincing.
But those are things that are far more complex than someone can absorb in a casual conversation.
There is a saying; “religion” is man’s attempt to get to God, where as true faith is based on God coming to man.
As surely as there is but One God there is only one faith, one hope and one Father over all. However the religious prove their ignorance by trying to get to God on their own terms.
If the religions of the world finally do unify then they celebrate mans achievements rather than God’s.

The entire history of man, putting himself on the throne, has been perverse. Didn’t read the article cause I’ve been saying it for years. Allah, god, buddah are just adjectives descridbing the same thing to an extent noone gets it. The devil is in the percieved difference that causes hostility between religions. I believe when God scattered the languages of the people he also scattered the understanding of religion it’s self. All religions are right to an extent and all are also wrong to an extent.

Just because there are those who are mistaken about who they think God is doesn’t change who God really is.
The truth is out there somewhere, and the truth very likely doesn’t encompass all opinions of who God really is.

I don’t know where you get your info on islam, but my impression is that it is most inhumane. It makes MkUltra appear a parlor game. It’s history of murder and enslavement of just the Europeans over the centuries involves scores of millions of victims. The few incursions by the Crusaders to recapture territory murderously taken in the name of islam pale when compared to the centuries of slaughter experienced in Spain alone at the hands of muslims.

Is a one-world religion possible? Sure, for a while – until the joy of sects is discovered. It is a human invention that only topically hints of true Spirituality and God.
