Politically Correct Discrimination: Students Told Girls Would Get Higher Grades

Politically correct discrimination in favor of preferred identity groups can be pushed so far over the top that appearance-minded educrats will grudgingly rein it in:

University of Akron officials this week blocked a professor from carrying out his plan to raise female students’ grades as part of what he called a “national movement to encourage female students to go to information sciences.”

Liping Liu, who teaches information systems analysis and design, announced in an email that students “may see their grades raised one level or two” for being female.

Whether you would have to really be female to get your grade inflated or could just identify as female is unclear.

This sort of blatant unfairness it is not unprecedented:

The episode isn’t the first time female students at a major university have gotten a gender-related edge over their peers. Prestigious Oxford University in Britain extended exam times in a bid to improve women’s scores, reports in January said.

We haven’t seen the last Title IX complaint regarding discrimination against men. Guys are starting to push back, or no one would have made enough of an issue of Liu’s grading scheme to get educrats to put the kibosh on it.
