Is time for a National Voter ID standard?

                It is that time of year where the seasons change, the festivities preparation will begin shortly and the political chaos for November elections have already begun. In past years of mid-term elections participation turn out does not resemble what we would typically see in a general election year.

     However, this year seems that there may be an exception to this year’s mid-term due to the political climate that the liberal side has reached a mega-fever pitch. This was evident in the recent process of confirmation for justice on the Supreme Court. Many were able to witness the extent to which a multitude of liberals where herded into Washington to exercise their 1^st Amendment in opposition to the nominee. Regardless if this was an organic or calculated protest by other forces is not the issue that we must reflect on, the focus should be to what extent of actions will be taken to attempt to destroy the foundations of this Republic.

     One of the most sacred actions that any American citizen can exercise is the scared act of voting to which we are all entitled to fulfill. This right is engrained in our constitution to be able to provide an opportunity to those that choose to embrace it. Due to the nature of this simple yet, important act should we not protect this as much or if not more then what many consider the 1^st and 2^nd Amendments, as some see as the most important rights to uphold?

      If the actions that were demonstrated by those that have been organized throughout the country are any indication of what course may be taken to divide this nation and overcome it not by the principals of the foundations of this country. Should we not protect this sacred act that can determine in which path the country is directed?

     This may be the time in which actions from our legislatures may require them to focus on the implantation of a national standard for voter ID. There are both sides to this discussion in which the Federal government should not be permitted to yield such power over the states and the opposing view to that it is, it should be required due to potential interference of voter fraud. Regardless of the perspective of this issue in which one may side with, the importance of making certain that this very action is not perverted by those that will seek to manipulate an outcome to undermine the principals of what are founding fathers had intended.

     As American citizens we should all be concerned and just as passionate of the preservation of this act and right as such, if not more than any other right that has been permitted to be exercised under our constitution. If given the opportunity to those that continue to interject the falsehoods of the division in this county and to portray a perception that our country has regressed to a time of 1940’s Germany as the inspiration for them to act “by any means necessary”, this should be the awakening that requires a national response to the preservation of our country and its foundations
