FreedomWorks Foundation Supports EPA and Army Corps of Engineer’s Proposed Changes to “Waters of the United States” Definition

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineer’s proposal to change the definition of “Waters of the United States” as part of the Clean Water Act, Ken Cuccinelli, Director of the FreedomWorks Regulatory Action Center, commented:

“We are happy to see President Trump and the EPA pushing forward to fix this anti-freedom regulation which represents one of the most explicit federal overreaches from the previous administration. The proposal to change the definition of ‘Waters of the United States,’ will help restore state, local and tribal jurisdiction over land use with regards to the Clean Water Act.”

“This definition is long overdue for reform and FreedomWorks’ grassroots activists look forward to making further comments, in addition to the almost 6,700 they have already submitted, to support moving in a more rational direction to keep the Waters of the United States clean and to preserve the freedoms of American citizens on their own property.”
