He cannot. If he caves, that will be the end of his political activities. He will no longer have the support of those who voted for him ( including the massive amount of people who defected from the Democrat party in order to claim Republican during the primaries).
If he caves, we will all know that he is just another actor in the big brother stage play, that he is just another stooge playing a part.
I would like to think that he is going to say things that will make the media consider pulling the plug on his speech citing “technical difficulties” because he says things big brother does not want the public to hear.
I think most likely that he is going to make it apparent that the shutdown is not his event, but an event being caused by the democrats as well as the republicans who have turned traitor on the american public.
Please God, let that be the case.
He can’t get away with blowing smoke up the publics ass, tonight is the yardstick he will be measured by from now on.
If he is not aggressive, straight spoken, and succinct about the importance of us needing our national security back, then he is over and done with. Impeachment, if the democrats in congress so desire, will happen without resistance.
Lets not forget, he has also most likely told republicans in closed meetings his intentions. If he reneges, he will go down in history as a smartass arrogant rich kid who bought his way into politics with a big mouth and the worlds greatest bullshitter.
I think he is smarter than to let that happen.
