Trump Calls Bernie Sanders “Crazy” for Embracing Socialism

As expected, Senator Bernie Sanders announced this week that he would be running, once again, for the Presidency.

Since first announcing during the 2016 Presidential cycle, Senator Sanders has been a polarizing figure for his Democratic Socialist political stances. And, with sympathy for socialism growing with elected officials like New York rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, President Trump and Republicans have fought back against the political ideology.

This week, President Trump held an event at FIU where he rejected socialism, and he also proclaimed that the United States would never become a socialist country.

In turn, a newsblast sent to supporters warned that “a new wave of radical socialist Democrats is coming, but I have news for them: America will NEVER be a socialist country.”

Trump said that he “thought this was a joke at first,” considering that Bernie’s run had ended the way it did, “but then his campaign reported that they raised $6 million in the first 24 hours.”

Trump then assured supporters that “America is the greatest country ever because of FREEDOM, not government domination.”

With Sanders jumping onboard as a candidate, he joins a growing list of now more than 20 candidates that are vying for the Democratic Presidential nomination to take on President Trump in the general election.

In true Trump fashion, the President has slammed several of the candidates both at campaign stops and on twitter.

When the President argued at the State of the Union address that Socialism would never make its way into the United States, a bipartisan group of lawmakers stood up to clap, but Senator Bernie Sanders remained seated.

And, in recent weeks, socialism has flooded the news because of the recent call for Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro to step down as President of Venezuela.

The event at FIU this week was a signal of support to the Venezuelan people living in Florida to assure them that the United States is fully committed to fighting socialism and the oppression it has on people.
