L.A Homelessness: Who´s Crazy?

Eureka! Forget mismanagement and down with logic! L.A Mayor, Eric Garcetti has just discovered the real culprit behind homelessness: “national mental health crisis”.

Crazy “folks”?

Mayor Garcetti confided in KTLA Morning News (June 24, 2019):”…national health crisis –we have to call it for what it is…until we deal with opioids and meth on the streets… until we deal with mental health that´s out there…”https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=YvRot5XkDcI

 Is the usually sleek LA ´s VIP rambling, or is it conscious Manipulation of Sentence Patterns? This simple strategy, very common in politics consists on using the unfinished sentences to avoid answering question with precision, and to change topic when convenient: “…I´m pushing the Washington now to have a summit on this…” Are we talking the same “Washington” Obama used to blame for eating his homework?

After flashing the tax-payers money:” Maxine Waters has introduced 13 billion dollar national bill to help us, because cities are going to drown”, L.A Mayor announced he is against stopping the flood of illegal emigration. While blatantly struggling to get L.A´s head above water, Mr. Garcetti holds a “sensible solution” to unlawful immigration; we should just:” stop the flow by going into Central America and dealing with the humanitarian crisis”. Asked for a comment on activists demanding his re-call over unfit leadership, Mayor Garcetti hoped that “people know political games from hard work”. Careful what you wish for –Los Angeles “folks” are not in Kansas anymore and homeless Veterans won´t dwell in or on some all-too-familiar Barracks…

Crazy Veterans?

Mr.Garcetti doesn´t need to underline that he is “standing strong with immigrants”. Back in 2015, he backed off his vow to get every homeless Veteran off L.A´s streets by the end of that year, only to co-author an ingratiating letter urging Obama “to increase still further the number of Syrian refugees” his city was suddenly able to welcome.

Absolved by «Time” (June 20, 2019): “Mayor Eric Garcetti didn’t create the homeless crisis in Los Angeles, but he owns it”, the politician made sure KTLA journalists get it too:”… a friend told me you´re kind of like the guy behind the horses in a parade. You didn’t cause what happened but you have to shovel it up “. Was it a friend or a flatterer? Once a lieutenant in the U.S Navy reserves Mayor Garcetti must have forgotten both “he ain´t heavy, he´s my brother” and GOFO.

As previously announced by Courthouse News Service (May 3, 2018), Los Angeles slapped nine big pharma companies with a 165-pages lawsuit on the grounds that their “fraudulent and negligent business practices” led to the opioid crisis in the city. Mr. Garcetti is very vocal on how the opioids  “prevent “homeless people from getting housing, but he won´t mention VA´s overdose of “pain management”. L.A´s Mayor is certainly aware of facts listed by Newsweek (10/12/17) in an article with self-explanatory title: «How the VA Fueled the National Opioid Crisis and Is Killing Thousands of Veterans”. Crazy politicians?

Before Maxine Waters mooches 13 billion dollar off the U.S (read: us), we should ask a pertinent question, which happens to be also a title of Gale Holland´s article (L.A Times, May 11, 2019): “L.A spent $619 million on homelessness last year: Has it made a difference”?

Corruption and “California dreaming” turned so many lives into nightmare, but it would be too easy to blame governmental insanity. Instead, let´s make sure that no politician, no matter if delusional or crazy like a fox is able to use a national mental disorder defense, and won´t wriggle out of responsibility thanks to a politically correct insanity plea.
