Outlook

Lingering cold air combined with a developing coastal cyclone will bring a period of freezing rain across parts of the western Carolinas this morning before becoming all rain. The main areas at risk are in the southeastern section of the county, including the Highlands Plateau. A brief break in the action is expected later this weekend before a slow-moving cold front brings rain back into the region early next week.
