“Politics, Education, and Our Antisemitism Problem”

The difficulty in trying to alert today’s younger voters to the oncoming rush of government totalitarianism is that a large percentage of today’s generations, mostly post-Vietnam born, have no clue of what totalitarianism is. Democrats hide it under the softer term “Democracy!” It was the dilemma of the Vietnam War, which politicians chose not to win. Still, it continued and on for interminable years, which provided American Socialists the opportunity to enter mainstream politics in real time and subvert the US government’s ability to conduct any logical foreign policy.

Today, in hindsight, I wonder why LBJ’s government saw the need to get involved in the French Army’s losses in Indochina. I understood then as now the fear of the Communist “domino effect.” Still, the French pullout signaled the end of European Colonialism by force of arms, marking, in turn, the rapid growth of our Military-Industrial complex, fearing the threats from a hostile Soviet Russia. We had to be prepared lest we should be attacked unawares, didn’t we?

During the Vietnam War, young Americans witnessed the rising body count of American soldiers without victory. They widely protested that conflict by refusing to be drafted into a military mission they thought was wrong, in the wrong place, and against the wrong people. Losing the trust of the government, they threw our political leaders into turmoil they could only correct by turning to appeasement as policy. The appeasement trend lingers in both of our political parties today except for Ronald Reagan, political indecisiveness in succeeding Presidents until Donald Trump tore the fabric of our once common American ideals that held us together into shreds.

Post-Vietnam President Ronald Reagan was not an appeaser, and his policies, in fact, collapsed the old Soviet empire. To this day, the New Left considers Soviet Russia’s collapse an aberration, claiming that the Russians didn’t do it right, but they can. To avoid any future student unpleasantness over their long-planned goal to change America fundamentally, it was first necessary to repurpose higher education to reeducate American students in the image of that great German philosopher, Karl Marx. Ergo, the Vietnam-era protesting students enrolled in the realms of higher education to become the Marxist cadres of college administrations and social and political science professors who are responsible for the rot in college and university education that imperils us today.

Where did this all come from? How did it start? How did it turn into flagrant antisemitism? The overused terms Hitler, Nazis, fascists, and dictators the Left throws against conservative Americans fall on the deaf ears of the current crop of voters who have had no direct experience with Hitler, Nazis, or the genocide of Jews, and they’re not taught it. They are unable to assimilate the terms in the horrifying ways my generation did. World War Two has left us with a vast documented history of the violent, horrible things that National Socialist Germany did to Jews, gypsies, Adventists, enemies, and political dissenters to National Socialism who lived within their reach.

Why the Jews then, and why has it resurfaced today? Worse, how has antisemitism come to be a feature of praise in higher education? Students today have no direct comparisons to the evil those fascist regimes perpetrated until 9 Oct 23. So, what’s the connection? Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, and their war machines only show up in black-and-white films on one or two cable channels, some of which seem to be dedicated to rewriting our history with no correlation made for educational purposes between Hitler’s megalomanía against Jews and his National Socialist Party’s collaboration with influential antisemitic Islamic Imans who perpetrated Hitler’s atrocities on 09 October. In post-WWI Germany, an antisemitic book appeared titled The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Its thesis came from unknown sources. It was a fanciful collection of lies about Jews that has been discredited time and time again but continues to circulate as truths spreading virulent antisemitism. It was intended to blame Jews for all manner of social and economic ills. Antisemites claim the book documents a “Jewish conspiracy” to dominate the world, but, there’s no evidence the Elders of Zion ever existed. Hitler read the book and it was shared with the Islamic countries of the 1930’s.

As early as 1903, selected parts from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion were serialized in the Russian newspaper, Znamya (The Banner), versions of which were translated into dozens of other languages. The Protocols were later added as an Appendix to The Great in the Small: The Coming of the Anti-Christ and the Rule of Satan on Earth, published in 1905 by Russian mystic Sergei Nilus. The intent was to portray Jews as conspirators against the state. Hitler believed it. In twenty-four chapters, or ‘protocols,’ deemed as minutes from meetings of Jewish leaders, the Protocols supposedly describe the secret plans of Jews to rule the world by manipulating the economy, controlling the media, and fostering religious conflict, sort of like what the World Economic Forum is doing today. It would be as easy to say God invented whiskey to keep the Irish from ruling the world!

After the Russian Revolution of 1917, anti-Bolshevik émigrés fleeing the new Russia introduced the Protocols of Zion to a gullible West because many Russian Jews, mistreated by decades of pogroms under Czarist governments, were the Bolsheviks. Soon after, editions circulated across Europe, the United States, South America, and even as far as Japan. An Arabic translation first appeared in the 1920s and the antisemitic tradition, bolstered by Hitler in the 1930’s, continues to this day. Also in 1920, the Dearborn Independent, a newspaper owned by the great car manufacturer Henry Ford, published a series of antisemitic articles based in part on the Protocols with excerpts from the book, ’The International Jew,’ included in the series. Later it was also translated into multiple languages. Joseph Goebbels, head of the Nazi Party’s Ministry of Propaganda, praised Ford and The International Jew.

In the 1930s, with the rise of Hitler’s Fascism in Europe, German Americans were influenced to support Hitler and his post-WWI restoration of the Fatherland and hate the Jewish Communists placed in Soviet Russia. Germans, even American ones, are great at organizing. They like noisy speeches in vast halls, parading with uniformed honor guards waving bright flags calling for all Germans to embrace the Fatherland. In doing so they became an item of concern to America as a potential fifth column as war hovered on the eastern horizon. When Hitler declared war on America in 1941 after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the FBI brought the German American ‘Bund” to a screeching halt. It died fast, too.

The terrible consequences of that era linger on and have now risen once again above the horizon line for all to see. America will never be the same again, so be aware and be prepared.
