“Far Left” Obama Supporter Rachel Rose Hartman is a …. Racist “Birther”?

Hmmm… lets see, Fox News reporter investigated, IRS going after Tea Party groups, AstroTurf Libertarian Adam Kokesh calls for “Final Revolution March in July”,  NSA invading our privacy and now a committed Obamaite reporter for Yahoo News who once said racism was at the heart of the “birther” scandal … writes that ObamaGod was actually born in Kenya.

Anyone else see a pattern developing? It’s almost as if someone were deliberately provoking a certain segment of society or at least providing the narrative of that pretext. But of course, that would be a conspiracy and no ruling segment of any administration would ever deliberately provoke an attack on U.S. soil in order to justify an unpopular agenda, would they? Well, except for that whole “Japan thing” prior to Pearl Harbor, but who counts that.

“Far left” Obama supporting Rachel Rose Hartman recently wrote an article which has the fake liberal blog-o-sphere in a tizzy. Here’s a screen-shot taken from the Huffington Post of the article. Notice what she writes in the first line (making damn sure everyone, INCLUDING HER EDITORIAL STAFF, sees it… that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. Well, according to an earlier version of Rachel Rose Hartman, that makes her a stone cold, card carrying, cross burning, old-school, KKK member racist.

What on earth do you think could motivate Rachel Rose to bring up the birther issue at a time like this? Did she think we would forget her earlier writings on this very subject?

She wrote that Kenya was the country of Barack Obama’s birth. Right there in the first sentence of the article. Kinda hard to miss, huh?

So I figured I would do a little research on her and guess what I found. I found her condemning “birthers” as racists in the lead-up to Obama’s 2012 re-election titled Birtherist response highlights racial undertones of ‘debate’. Yahoo News took down that article, but they seem to have forgotten about the cached version:

“So what’s fueling the dogged questioning of Obama’s origins? Many critics of the birther movement say its core tenets–and its stubborn resistance to evidence disproving those beliefs–can be traced to racial hostilities. The fundamental birtherist conviction, these critics say, is that an African-American can’t have legitimately won the presidency–and that his elevation to power therefore has to be the result of an elaborate subterfuge.

“There is a real deep-seated and vicious racism at work here in terms of trying to de-legitimate the president,” Peniel Joseph, a professor of history at Tufts University, told The Ticket.

“This is more than just a conspiracy,” Joseph added. “I think this is fundamentally connected to a conception of white supremacist democracy in this country.”

Miami Herald columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. in early April called for the connection to be publicly drawn between birthers and racism: “So it is time to call this birther nonsense what it is–not just claptrap, but profoundly racist claptrap.”

And columnist Michael Tomasky wrote for The Guardian Wednesday that the birther conspiracy “had to be the only explanation for how this black man got to the White House.” He added: “And if you think race isn’t what this is about at its core, ask yourself if there would even be a birther conspiracy if Barack Obama were white and named Bart Oberstar. If you think there would be, you are delusional.”

In a similar vein, Rev. Jesse Jackson told Politico yesterday that Donald Trump’s campaign to get Obama to release his birth certificate is deeply rooted in race.

“Any discussion of [Obama's] birthplace is a code word,” Jackson said. “It calls upon ancient racial fears.” Jackson later added that, in his view, Trump “is now tapping into code-word fears that go far beyond a rational discourse.”

Birthers emphatically deny such criticism. But it’s difficult to apprehend the ongoing resistance to proof of Obama’s citizenship without crediting racial fear as a significant factor.” Rachel Rose Hartman, April 27th, 2011

Do you think Rachel Rose Hartman simply forgot that “birthers” were evil racist bastards when she wrote this? Do you think maybe she simply “mispoke” and Yahoo editors overlooked her little “mistake”? Do you think she’s gone over to the KKK side from her “far left” position of loving everything Obama?

Or maybe do you think that maybe they are just trying to lite another brush fire to kick off the Summer of Discontent by bringing up the “birther” issue and that is why Yahoo tried to scrub her story first story off their website?
