Michael Zehaf-Bibeau Confessed to Made-Up Crimes, Pulled a Stick-Up at McDonald’s With a Stick
by Scott Creighton
Michael Zehaf-Bibeau wanted to go to jail. He was addicted to crack cocaine and wanted treatment or so goes the story from CTV News in Vancouver.
He wanted it so badly, in 2011 he reportedly confessed to a major crime that never happened and then when he was released from the police department after his fake confession, he rushed over to a McDonald’s with a pointy stick and tried to rob the place. After they called 911, he sat outside waiting for the cops. That was his armed robbery charge in Dec. of 2011 which was reduced to “making threats”. I guess he told someone he would poke them really hard if they didn’t hand over some McMuffins.
Ottawa shooter Michael Zehaf-Bibeau attempted to confess to a historical armed robbery that the RCMP believed didn’t happen, then attempted an armed robbery at a McDonald’s to go to jail, court recordings provided to CTV News show.
It was all part of a bizarre plan by the man who attacked Parliament Hill to get to jail to atone for his sins and get clean from a crack addiction, the audio recordings show.
“Perfect, perfect,” a Zehaf-Bibeau says with a French accent on the tapes, when he is finally allowed to be incarcerated. “The RCMP are investigating.”
…“I wanted to come to jail,” he said. “The RCMP couldn’t do the work fast enough.”
“I warned them that if you can’t keep me in I will do something right now to put me in.” CTV News
Recent news reports feature interviews with homeless people who say Michael was recently back on the rock but honestly I don’t give them anymore credibility than Harley-Guy.
The FBI here in the states has a long, long history of finding mentally defective criminals and using them as patsies for various operations they need to run. They find them and they cultivate them, keep them desperate and lonely and dependent on their handlers until they are activated. In some cases, they allow them to commit serious crimes over extended periods of time just waiting for the right moment to use them as they see fit.
It’s possible that this is what happened with Michael Zehaf-Bibeau. However, the connections his parents hold tend to make me think something else might be at play here.
The court ordered evaluation of the man found that he wasn’t mentally ill and was capable of standing trial for what he did.
“I am unable to find any features or signs of a mental illness and although he seems to be making an unusual choice this is insufficient basis for a diagnosis of a mental disorder. I recommend that the accused is presumed fit to stand trial,” the psychiatrist wrote.
On Feb. 22, 2012, Zehaf-Bibeau was sentenced to time served. CTV News
He had actually been held overnight for observation after his false confession and they released him the next day, the same day as the McDonald’s STICK-up. They didn’t find him legitimately ill either.
So why was he so desperate to go to jail?
Crack addiction can make you do some really self destructive things, that’s for sure. Maybe he desperately wanted a change. Maybe he owed the wrong people. Maybe he got it in his head it was his only salvation.
Or maybe, just maybe, his handlers told him they needed him inside so that he could get close to various people and see what was going on.
Hard too say.
