The Real Legacy of the Regressive Barack Obama: The Micro-nukes of Pax Americana Unleashed (JFK Wept)

by Scott Creighton

In so many ways since he became president back in early 2008, our “progressive” instrument of “CHANGE” has proven he is certainly not progressive nor did he ever have any desire to “CHANGE” any of the Bush administration policies set in stone before he took office.

The TARP bailouts continued unabated, the Middle Class is still shrinking along with the banking industry, Bush’s Comprehensive Immigration Reform remains a top priority of the Obama administration, our soldiers still fight and die in illegal wars started by “W” and Dick in Iraq and Afghanistan, the national security state continues to expand via assistance from Big Business, drones are still killing more and more dissidents and trouble-makers in our conquered countries across the world, whistle-blowers are prosecuted without mercy at an ever increasing rate, no one is held accountable for war-crimes or corporate crimes here in America and thanks to the work of people like Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, we’ve been able to check off a couple of those “7 countries in 5 years,” that “W” and Dick wanted so badly.

And the corporate Bill of Rights that is the TPP and the TTIP are waiting in the wings for the lame ducks of December.

No, Barack Obama is no JFK. That was just more false advertising.

We Americans should be used to that by now.

When news organizations are allowed to lie to you because it’s considered an exercise of their free speech, the sky’s the limit when it comes to deception. So we shouldn’t be surprised the Marketing Campaign of the Year 2008 turned out to be a total fraud.

Of course, John F. Kennedy was no JFK either. His record certainly doesn’t live up to his mythology if you take the time to study history a little. He continued that little Special Ops unconventional war in Vietnam for quite a while and did his level best to regime change Cuba during his short stint in the Oval Office. He had his little indiscretions, gave top positions to his family members and generally enjoyed being the Left Cover Celebrity King for a while, just like Clinton and Obama after him.

But there is one important difference: he got tired of being lied to by his military advisers and the CIA.

So when those lies nearly brought us to a real nuclear war (not the pretend one the Cold War was all about selling us) … John F. Kennedy became JFK.

And for that, they killed him.

In what is perhaps the most telling difference between the regressive Barack Obama and the progressive version of the latter years of John F. Kennedy, today we have officially entered the New Cold War by removing one of greatest banes of the ruling elite: the fear of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD)

Now I know they’ve been demonizing Russia for a little while now and things aren’t really as bad as they appear to be on the surface of the lying MSM, but they never really were that bad to begin with. It was all a show then, it’s all a show now.

Of course, that show back then led us to a little thing called the Cuban Missile Crisis which turned out to be the catalyst that morphed John Kennedy into JFK. Sometimes it’s hard to predict how these for-profit terror campaigns will turn out. And when you toss in a true believer like Castro and give him nuclear weapons, all bets are off and the potential for Mutually Assured Destruction becomes a bitter, game changing reality.

Say what you will about Vietnam, firing Allen Dulles or backing the dollar with silver, what got JFK assassinated was his decision to normalize relations with the Soviet Union and to bring about an end the extremely profitable Cold War.

Ironically, Kennedy marked this turn with a commencement address he gave at American University on June 10, 1963. It is said he only allowed a very few close advisers, ones he still trusted, to know about or take part in helping him write the monumental announcement. He was wise to do so. It was their graduation. It was his.

“The powerful speech marked an abrupt departure from Cold War bluster and announced a new era of cooperation and coexistence.” Peter Janney

The address he gave that day became known simply as “A Strategy of Peace” and it remains as one of the most powerful and awe-inspiring examples of American political oratory in our short history. Yet sadly and predictably, it is almost never mentioned and seems to have been relegated to the trash bin of our collective memory by those same masters of the universe who gave the order to have it’s author removed from office many decades ago.

Here is but a short segment of the words that sealed the fate of JFK:

“I have, therefore, chosen this time and place to discuss a topic on which ignorance too often abounds and the truth too rarely perceived. And that is the most important topic on earth: peace. What kind of peace do I mean and what kind of a peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, and the kind that enables men and nations to grow, and to hope, and build a better life for their children – not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women, not merely peace in our time but peace in all time.

I speak of peace because of the new face of war. Total war makes no sense in an age where great powers can maintain large and relatively invulnerable nuclear forces and refuse to surrender without resort to those forces. It makes no sense in an age where a single nuclear weapon contains almost ten times the explosive force delivered by all the allied air forces in the Second World War. It makes no sense in an age when the deadly poisons produced by a nuclear exchange would be carried by wind and water and soil and seed to the far corners of the globe and to generations yet unborn.

Today the expenditure of billions of dollars every year on weapons acquired for the purpose of making sure we never need them is essential to the keeping of peace. But surely the acquisition of such idle stockpiles – which can only destroy and never create – is not the only, much less the most efficient, means of assuring peace. I speak of peace, therefore, as the necessary, rational end of rational men. I realize the pursuit of peace is not as dramatic as the pursuit of war, and frequently the words of the pursuers fall on deaf ears. But we have no more urgent task.” John F. Kenney, June 10, 1963

With this address, John Kennedy committed the ultimate betrayal any ranking public servant can against the fraternity of the power elite of the world. I say the world because they don’t owe allegiance to any nation as they reside in many, including the Soviet Union at the time. The Cold War was profitable in many currencies. It has always been globalized.

To understand the threat this speech presented to the ruling class, the treason JFK committed against those who allowed him to be ordained (and if you don’t understand that, look at what happened to his brother), one must understand that it went far beyond the notion that the nuclear arms race must end.

The use of nuclear weapons, the MAD doctrine, has a drawback: it negates the purpose of war while understandably serving as an effective deterrent against large scale wars between Super Powers.

Wars like these have always been profitable to a certain class of men. They are profitable in the build-up to war. They are profitable in the fighting of them. And they are profitable in the carnage that ensues. Rebuilding, looting, restructuring the society in the aftermath. The acquisition of resources – mineral, agricultural and human. These are all profit generating venues for the ruling elites and the use of nuclear weapons nullifies all but the first stage of those wind-falls. There are no “100 year” nuclear wars to generate War Bonds and feed a military industrial complex. There are no lands to be seized by Big Ag when the soil is radioactive and produces nothing but the fruits of death. And who will mine the coal from the stolen fields if the average life-span of the miner is a mere pain-filled 90 days?

So, the nuclear arms race had a built-in shelf life… but the Cold War did not.

And that is the real betrayal of the elites that JFK committed because he not only proclaimed an end to the Cold War, but also he introduced an rather foreign idea to the people of that generation: the idea that they and their children could live in a world without fear and he was determined to ignite that fire half-way through what clearly would have been his first term in office.

Fear is the ultimate tool of the elites. There always has to be something to fear. Something worse than the life the elites allow us to endure.

That is why every politician seeking office must swear allegiance to whatever Fear de Jour they are offering at the time.

In his time, it was the Evil Empire, the Soviet Union, the Domino Theory of Communist Creep that promised to sneak under your bed at night and conform your Free Will to the dreaded “collectivism”. It was something worse than the shallow, corporatist, racist, bigoted, misogynistic world of the American Dream a la 1962.

Today politicians must start every foreign policy speech with the words “The threat of ISIS is real”. I don’t care who they are. Clinton or Sanders. Trump or Cruz. “ISIS” presents the “greatest threat to democracy the world has ever known” and that must be the starting point of every speech, of every policy paper. Sharia Law is Coming! Something worse than the shallow, corporatist, racist, bigoted, misogynistic, austerity-filled, vanishing Middle Class, corrupt political parties world of the Post American Dream of 2016.

And it is a lie. And they know it’s a lie. But it is a necessary lie, a foundational lie, from which all other lies depend.

Power, to remain in power, must have a villain, must have a threat for them to protect us from. It has always been that way and it will always be. It’s face will change from decade to decade. Sometimes, as now, it will have no face. But it must always be there.

And that is Leadership 101.

This is the blasphemy that signaled the final straw for JFK, the notion that there was another way to live, one without fear, in perpetuity. And that terrified the ruling elites. The potential of a populous without fear horrified them. Chaos would ensue for they know the natural outcome of that would be true liberation as we would eventually turn our attention to them, the real terrorists of the modern world.

Barack Obama stands in stark contrast to the transformed John F. Kennedy. The post Bay of Pigs JFK.

Today, over at the New York Times, yet one more of Obama’s betrayals lies exposed. This one, a rather dark an ominous betrayal. One that makes a mockery of John’s last and most important speech.

The United States, Russia and China are now aggressively pursuing a new generation of smaller, less destructive nuclear weapons. The buildups threaten to revive a Cold War-era arms race and unsettle the balance of destructive force among nations that has kept the nuclear peace for more than a half-century…

… President Obama acknowledged that danger at the end of the Nuclear Security Summit meeting in Washington early this month. He warned of the potential for “ramping up new and more deadly and more effective systems that end up leading to a whole new escalation of the arms race.”…

… As part of the modernization process, it is also planning five classes of improved nuclear arms and associated delivery vehicles that, as a family, are shifting the American arsenal in the direction of small, stealthy and precise.

“We are witnessing the opening salvos of an arms race,” James M. Acton, a senior analyst at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

… One fear about the new weapons is that they could undercut the grim logic of “mutual assured destruction,” the Cold War doctrine that any attack would result in massive retaliation and ultimately the annihilation of all combatants. While much debated and often mocked — in classics like the movie “Dr. Strangelove” — MAD, as it was known, worked. Now, the concern is that the precision and less-destructive nature of these new weapons raises the temptation to use them.” New York Times

For the power elite, MAD was the unintended consequence of the natural evolution of the industrialization of the science of warfare. It ensured that the future of global warfare would be limited to projects like “7 Countries in 5 Years” with various “humanitarian interventions” sprinkled in along the way to satiate the appetites and balance the spread sheets of the ruling elites.

But MAD meant there would be no definitive glorious feasts like those that built the ruling families of the past. For decades they have had to trickle-feed like leeches… or cancer… on the War on Drugs, the War on Terror, the War on Anyone Weak Enough to Pose No Risk nor Generate Bad Press.

Today the evolution of killing has solved their hegemonic quagmire. Micro-nukes are the new black and a soulless sycophant to power is helping usher them into the battlefield cloaked in his tattered left cover facade.

Gone is the notion of a world without “the peace of the grave or the security of the slave”. It was killed. Assassinated by a patsy and his magic bullets.

It is a lesson taught on the first day of the average Leadership 101 course at places like Harvard and Yale.

“ISIS” is everywhere and the New Red Menace is rising while the next Cuban Missile Crisis lies in wait.

There are no more JFKs. A politician with a soul and the courage to listen to it, is not a politician. Not in America. Not anymore. Not for long at least.

The next conflict off the coast of Cuba or North Korea or Iran will not end well. We have limited nuclear marvels and limited humans wielding them to thank for that.

The Great and Glorious “progressive” Obama, celebrated by both our Democratic nominees to replace him, has ushered in a new age of an old war, much to the jubilation of the power elites. That old MAD problem is a thing of the past because now we can feel free to use the most horrific weapons man has ever created on a “limited” scale, rendering just the battlefield useless and not the precious mines and fields they defend.

But more than that, President Peace Prize has stood watch over an administration that gave rise to the rebirth of the Cold War and the mythology of the Evil Empire. He has served well the power elite, the Gods of Fear, by insisting we all submit to “the security of the slave” as the best “HOPE” we have to choose from.

It is his pragmatism that births his legacy… and ours.

We self-sensor, we shy away from difficult topics. We watch what we say, write or Tweet because we live in fear of a different monster. And that is the life of the informed. That pragmatic life of the informed.

For all the rest, there is “ISIS” and Putin the Evil and the Great Soviet Empire waiting once again to conform us into the dreaded “collectivists” Ayn Rand scared the masses with not that long ago.

It is a different world than the one spoken of that June day in ’63. Of that, there is no doubt.

But it is not the only possible one and it is not the one that will last. Of that, there is also no doubt. It’s just the one they tricked us into accepting… for now.

We shall be prepared if others wish it. We shall be alert to try to stop it. But we shall also do our part to build a world of peace where the weak are safe and the strong are just. We are not helpless before that task or hopeless of its success. Confident and unafraid, we must labor on – not towards a strategy of annihilation but towards a strategy of peace.” JFK, June 10, 1963
