Neocon Michael Rubin (pen name Peter Korzun?) Openly Calls for Military Coup in Turkey

All those so-called “alternative” journalists out there who have been steadily regurgitating the anti-Erdogan rhetoric of this latest neoliberal regime change operation in the Middle East (and I am talking to you Lizzie Phelan and Steve Lendman) should take note: this is what you are supporting.

Yesterday Peter Korzun of the Strategic Culture Foundation posted an article in which he clearly calls for the military of Turkey to stage a coup in order to take control away from the elected government of the country and specifically, Recep Erdogan, because he is a “sultan”

In order to make his point on a so-called “progressive” “anti-war” and “anti-imperialism” website, Korzun chooses some rather suspect “experts” to help him make his case:

“Michael Rubin, a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a former Pentagon official, predicts an imminent military coup in Turkey. According to the expert, «Turks – and the Turkish military – increasingly recognize that Erdogan is taking Turkey to the precipice». Rubin believes that «he [Erdogan] has taken Turkey down a path in which there is no chance of victory and a high chance of de facto partition». According to him, «If the Turkish military moves to oust Erdogan and place his inner circle behind bars, could they get away with it? In the realm of analysis rather than advocacy, the answer is yes». Rubin writes, it is doubtful that the Obama administration would do more than castigate any coup leaders, especially if they immediately laid out a clear path to the restoration of democracy. Neither Turkey nor Greece lost their NATO membership after coups.

The Turkish military has long seen itself as the «guardian of Turkish democracy», which it defines as the staunchly secular state created by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the modern Turkish republic..” Peter Korzun

Yes, that is the same neocon Michael Rubin of the Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld days being quoted as a source by the “anti-imperialist” Peter Korzun in his article calling for an undemocratic military coup in Turkey.

Between 2004 and 2009, he was editor of the Middle East Quarterly. He has received fellowships from the Council on Foreign Relations,^[3] and the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.

Rubin has lectured in history at Yale University, Hebrew University, Johns Hopkins University, and worked as visiting lecturer at Universities of Sulaymaniyah, Salahuddin, and Duhok, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Between 2002 and 2004, Rubin worked as a country director for Iran and Iraq in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, from which he was seconded to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.^[4]

And yes, a military coup in Turkey to get rid of the elected government and Recep Erdogan is exactly what Peter Korzun is calling for.

Turkey is at a crossroads. The time is right for changes. One way or another the movement down the slippery slope should be stopped. Turkish people have a very simple choice: either to replace insanity with intelligence and wisdom on the way to peace and prosperity, or continue on the present downward course under the smoldering ashes of civil war and destruction. Recep Erdogan has refused to take out another IMF loan once they paid off the last one a few years ago. This has caused a great deal of problems for the masters of the universe.

He is also steadfast in his opposition to partition Syria and Turkey, giving away much of them to the Kurds in the ongoing effort to create Greater Kurdistan.

Michael Rubin has spent a good deal of time with those same Kurds in Iraq, right around the time when the US created Iraqi Kurdistan and handed it over to the Barzani clan so they could be the dictators of the new Saudi Arabia we are building over there.

Rubin has a long, long history of backing various neoliberal regime change operations:

Back in 2010, Michael Rubin wrote “Why Neoconservatism Was and Is Right”

In 2014 he voiced his approval of the neo-Nazi color revolution in Ukraine and suggested he wanted to see more of them all over the world, including Russia.

“What Putin recognizes—but too many in the West have yet to—is that he sees the protests in Ukraine as a dry run for what could happen in Moscow, St. Petersburg, or Vladivostok. So there he is, Michael Rubin, a pure neocon who helped regime change Iraq and destroyed that country. Backed the Kurds while he started the partitioning of Iraq. Tried to regime change Iran for decades. Backed the neo-Nazis in Ukraine. And hoped like hell his version of neoliberal “democracy” comes to other countries like Turkey and Russia.

Do you understand who that is that Peter Korzun was quoting in his pro-coup propaganda piece? Wanna know something else?

Korzun didn’t actually write all of that article on the Wayne Madson supported website… Michael Rubin wrote most of it.

So either Peter Lorzun is simply a pen name used by neocon Michael Rubin on Wayne Madsen’s phony “anti-imperialist” website or he’s a plagiarist with his head stuck so far up a neocon’s ass he can’t tell his thoughts from those of the Zionist war-monger’s.

Either way, I just thought people (I’m still looking at you Lizzie and Steve) would like to know where their anti-Erdogan propaganda is coming from and what it seeks to create:
