Donald Trump Calls Conspiracy-Monger Alex Jones to Thank Him, Promises to Go on His Show Soon

For the past decade I’ve been watching in horror as the conservative movement grew closer and closer to the conspiracy-peddling lunacy of Alex Jones and his InfoWars website. Matt Drudge added a permanent link to InfoWars on Drudge Report; Rand Paul made numerous appearances on the Alex Jones radio and Internet shows; right wing bloggers began routinely citing the bizarre and frequently false stories that appeared on Jones’ websites.

And in this campaign season, Donald Trump, his sons, and numerous advisers frequently tweeted links to posts at InfoWars and PrisonPlanet, Jones’ two main sites.

Now tonight, Alex Jones says president-elect Donald Trump called him personally to thank him for his support during the election — and promised to appear on his conspiracy-mongering show soon to thank the Alex Jones audience.

A deranged conspiracy-monger will now have the ear of the President of the United States, folks. This is the kind of connection that used to be considered a complete disqualifier for holding high office. Now…

This just keeps getting more nightmarish.
