“June 2, 2017- On Thursday the White House unveiled its Veterans Complaint Hotine, delivering on a campaign promise to give veterans direct access to the Trump administration.
Veterans can voice their concerns or individual complaints by calling (855) 948-2311.
Let’s say, for instance, you believe your VA medical center unfairly charged you for an emergency room visit. Or, you might wish to let the administration know of your concerns about its FY 2018 budget proposal or its plans to immediately halt payments to current and future veterans with a 100-percent individual unemployability rating once they are eligible for Social Security benefits at age 62.
The call center is operating under a soft launch until it is fully operational in August. During the soft launch period, the complaint line will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. In August, veterans can expect 24-hour continuous coverage.
The complaint line is a vehicle for the VA to start collecting, processing, tracking, and responding to complaints in a more responsive way. The VA will use the data to improve the delivery of high quality health care and benefits to veterans and their families in a measurable way. MOAA encourages members who have concerns or problems to contact the complaint line.”
A Comment: My personal experience calling this hotline yesterday was excellent, to my great surprise! After one ring an answering machine voice said, “Welcome to the White House VA Hotline. Please hold, someone will assist you shortly.” I thought, oh man, here we go… as anyone who’s dealt with the VA before knows, don’t expect much, and I expected an hour wait, at least, then get cut off. But no! After 30 seconds of nice music a voice came on, saying, “White House VA Hotline, this is Eric, how may I help you?” Very politely and courteously Eric took my information, answered all my questions, and advised that I’d be contacted about my concerns by email or telephone “within 14 days.” I can’t praise this effort highly enough! Bravo, President Trump!
