Why I won't be celebrating the Fourth of July

The 4^th of July is a holiday, it is one that brings back fond memories for many, and I included. The 4^th of July is referred to as Independence Day, but most often called the Fourth of July or July 4, it is a Federal Holiday and it is the National Day of the USA. The day was set aside to commemorate the young nation’s Independence from Great Britain and to celebrate that Declaration of Independence.

The day is one with parades and fireworks and in some states even firecrackers, a day for picnics and sports. Some even attach vacation days from work to make it an extended holiday. However, for many the day does not feel right anymore, there is something missing, something overrides the sense of pride and enjoyment of the day. The reason is that there is something wrong with the United States. On the other hand, can we even really call it the United States anymore? Here are just 25 (there are many more) reasons I will not be celebrating the Fourth of July.

1. The borders are wide open anyone and everyone can and does cross over
2. It is no longer a privilege to be an American…just walk across the border and you are one
3. The US was built on moral principles those have vanished
4. The US used to be a prideful nation and for good reason but not any longer
5. The US government is completely broken, there is no simple or good fix to it
6. The Supreme Court does not follow the Constitution
7. The President does not follow the Constitution
8. Congress has gone rogue and does not listen to We the People
9. Both political parties are one in the same
10. The IRS abuses citizens and nothing is done
11. Patriotism is a dirty word to many these days
12. Big US corporate, big US banks and big US government are all one… and that is fascism
13. The military-industrial-complex has taken over the control of the Federal Government
14. Operations such as Jade Helm 15 that violate the 4^th Amendment & Posse Comitatus
15. Our Bill of Rights has been relegated to the drawer of history

17. The United States is not respected as it used to be in the world, if at all
18. Many cities in the US now look and feel more like 3^rd world cities
19. The Federal Government is purposefully immigrating 3^rd world citizens into wide areas of the country to bring the US more in line with foreign 3^rd world nations
20. There are so many bureaucracies and government agencies that even the government has lost count of them all
21. The citizens of the United States are apathetic and for the most part weak and timid. Afraid to make government do the will of the people
22. US history is either distorted or not taught at all in public schools

25. Polls show that many if not most persons in the country, don’t even know or really understand what the Fourth of July is supposed to represent anyway

Therefore, for these and many other reasons the Fourth has become but another day in a former republic. If you celebrate this Fourth of July take caution be careful. However, I will not be joining you in celebration.
