Behaviour of SWW, a Pennon Group company

 Don’t worry people, none of my usual Cornish rant here, more of a rant about the entire South Western bit of the UK. Here in charge of drinking water and the sewer services is a company called South West Water, charging some of the highest costs for water related public services in the UK, whilst providing some of the worst services. Complaints in recent years about this company have gone down, most likely due to the gagging orders imposed during settlements. But a few people are beginning to speak out, showing us that in the UK these type of companies are above the law. They have no regulators, no enforcers. One such victim, and victim is the word, has suffered years of effluent flooding her home and property because this company refuses to accept ownership of what is obviously a sewer pipe beneath a public road.

Someone else, noticing a waterleak under a road next to her property, notified SWW of its occurance and awaited its remedy. When the road started sinking, no action was taken. All that happened was the “pretence” of doing something. Then finally, the leak started affecting this womans home, so much so that it had to be underpinned. Upon taking action against SWW and the local authority Cornwall Council, SWW eventually resorted into grooming this lady into suicide. Yes they encouraged her to commit suicide because they didn’t want to pay out costs, when its senior manager recieves a salary of around £600m per year. Now we know where that money comes from, customer service eh? Still paying back her solicitors 5 years later after taking these companies to court, her words are that SWW and CC both act like 5 year olds.

Also along the lines of sewers, it seems a number of surfers are picking up illnesses in the sea around where a sewage outlook is located. Obviously on clean water exits here as its been treated. Obviously. The charity Surfers Against Sewage is uninterested, turning its eye to plastics and ignoring both the sewage and surfers. All along the south west infection rates are up everywhere, possibly due to the inadequate infrastructure of the sewage network, not helped by charities refusing to do that for which they were created.

So in all its a fairly usual year so far.
