3 foot wide Disk-Shaped object found on Beach?

“The device is disk-shaped and about 3 feet wide and appears to weigh about 500 lbs.” Now this is a story worth watching and seeing the outcome. What is it really? First off how does something that big and metal just wash up on a shore??? They are speculating it to be a WWII bomb at this point. Or, should i say, that is what they are trying to sell as an explanation for this odd item on the beach. What are the odds? Also the fact of BP’s involvement at this point as well. I will have to watch how this ends up, that’s if they tell us the truth in the end as to what this really is and how this got there.. Something smells here, and it isn’t the fish in the gulf.
Food for thought… Things that make you go HMMMM????

Quote from the source article..

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – UPDATE:
News 5 has a crew on the scene. Authorities tell us that BP workers cleaning the beach found the device around 9 this morning. The device is disk-shaped and about 3 feet wide and appears to weigh about 500 lbs. It was found in the surfline. Crews have cordoned off about 30 yards of beach with construction fence.

Update…

So this is their official story on the news wire.. A practice mine that has been floating around for a very long time.. The enclosed pic shows a ball shape object covered in growths. This would say it was a very, very, very long time to me. The whole story just sounds bazaar to me. Something is still not adding up. The newly released pics below show the alleged practice bomb. Well it doesn’t look like a disk shape as they stated originally. It looks more like a ball to me. So is this the same object in these new pics? I will let you decide.

Quote from news source..

UPDATED: Possible ‘bomb’ found near Perdido Pass was ‘practice mine’
July 06, 2010 7:02 PM
Pensacola News Journal

A device that washed ashore this morning in Orange Beach, Ala., was a practice mine and did not contain explosives.

Pensacola Naval Air Station spokesman Harry White said the device was identified as an inert Naval practice mine by an explosive ordnance disposal team from Panama City.

It appeared to have been at sea for some time, White said.

The explosives team removed the device and is taking it back to Panama City for further identification and disposal, White said.

The practice mine was found near the east side of Perdido Pass. People were being kept at least 500 feet from the device as officials waited for the ordnance disposal team to remove it.

Some added thoughts of mine

Right now with all the news coming out of the gulf. Most of it watered down and deflecting the hard facts, this just falls into that whole mess for me.. BP is also the ones finding this device.. My skepticism says what ever it may be is a direct product of what is going on deep below the surface. What is being done down their for stuff like this to timely wash up on the beaches, while all this is going on??? Is the reports from scientists saying they are worried that the gulf sea floor may be fractured have some credence to it? Is the floor now being disturbed in some form to start having things like this be shaken loose then float to the surface and appear on the beaches? The object looks like a mini coral reef with barnacles and stuff all over it to say it must have been submerged. I am not sold that it has been floating around for a long time.. That just doesn’t wash for me.. So what is really going on down there?

Just my take on it,

Most people think the fractured sea floor is not true. Do you think it’s true, and if so – why? The “scientists confirm” story was written by Sorcha Faal who is considered one of the leading hoaxers of the web….
Just curious what you think is true.
