Residents Confuse Top Secret Craft With UFO

Imagine you look out the window of your home and you see a large flatbed truck transporting what appears to be a silver disc-shaped craft. What’s more, the transport has a police escort — courtesy of the county sheriff’s office.

Now, imagine you call the local sheriff’s office to ask about what you saw, and they tell you that they cannot say a word about it. They only say the cargo is top secret.

This actually happened in Cowley County, Kansas. [map]

When a transport company called the Cowley County Sheriff’s office and asked for their assistance in maneuvering a large cargo through their town, Sheriff Don Read didn’t realize that it would be a top-secret experimental craft.

Well, he figured it out when the transport company had asked the Sheriff not to say a word about the cargo. All they told him was that “it was an aircraft,” and to “not say a whole lot about it.”

Residents peered through their home and car windows, and they instinctively recognized the shape of the covered aircraft. A UFO being towed down US 77!
