‘UFO’ IN SOUTH CAROLINA LIGHTS UP NIGHT SKY, EXPLOSIONS HEARD

Most likely a bolide, scientists are surprised because they didn’t see it coming

Residents in South Carolina reported hearing explosions and seeing the sky light up at approximately 1:40 AM on Monday, February 13. Some witnesses reportedly thought a they witnessed a UFO exploding and then crashing near Greenville, South Carolina.

One witness reported she was frightened when her front yard became bathed in a blue light. “I thought the aliens were coming,” she told a reporter from her local Fox affiliate

The local Fox affiliate says they caught the spectacle on their security cameras. In the security footage, the parking lot can be seen lighting up; and the luminous object can be seen in a reflection on one of the vehicles.

According to Dr. Charles St. Lucas, Planetarium Director at the Roper Mountain Science Center in Greenville, South Carolina, the UFO was almost certainly a bolide.

Although experts are saying that this was likely a bolide, they are also expressing surprise because they didn’t predict any such activity.

Jason McClellan at Open Minds writes: “Bolide meteors are supposed to be rare, yet fireball UFOs have appeared in multiple states across the United States in the past year.”

The location of its crash is not yet known, according to JD Journal.
