Karen M. - Strange Sounds Experiencer

Question: First off tell us something about yourself, your personal life, hobbies, recreational activities, etc.

Answer: I am retired and live in a retirement community in Northern California. I belong to several card groups and hope to return to golfing soon,

Question: In May of 1994, you started hearing strange buzzing, humming sounds. Also, you felt strange vibrations. Can you elaborate on this?

Answer: In the beginning, the noise sounded like fog horns coming from the San Francisco Bay nearby. It sounded like a signal with two short drones and then a long extended sound. Eventually as it got louder and louder it was more constant. The vibration was mild in the beginning but gradually became worse and felt as if a helicopter was sitting on top of the house and at times felt as if a jackhammer was under the house. It was always worse at night and made sleeping very difficult. At times during the day I could feel movement under my feet. It was very disorienting. Eventually, my body started twitching at times (especially my right thumb) and frequently I felt electricity shooting thru my body. Usually when a plane took off from the S. F. airport and if I was lying down this happened. I started going to other homes and also could hear and feel the sensations there. Eventually I went to other states and it was always there although in Missouri there was no vibration. I really felt as if I had become a conduit for electromagnetic electricity. My mother could also feel vibrations but could not hear the noise. Two sisters could also hear this but were not as badly affected by it. I did talk about this a lot to people and they did think it was extremely strange until Close Encounters aired a T. V. show about the Taos Hum.

Question: Buzzing and humming sounds are sometimes associated with the alien abduction phenomenon. Have you ever had any strange markings on your body that you can’t explain?

Answer: Several months after the unusual events started happening to me I woke up one morning with a deep scratch between my eyes near the right side.

Question: Where have you experienced the strange humming, buzzing and vibrations?

Answer: Everywhere I go.

Question: What other unusual paranormal phenomenon have you experienced?

Answer: Several other unusual things started happening around four months after I began hearing the Hum. I had two incidents where I awoke in the middle of the night because I had walked into a wall while sleeping. I had no history of sleep walking. While relatives were visiting one noticed that the lights were blinking up stairs and then started blinking downstairs. A terrible smell occasionally came out of the kitchen sink but no source was found. The water occasionally swirled in the toilets. A picture came off a stairwell wall with such a force it seemed as if it was thrown off. Neighbors could smell gas in front of the driveway but P.G.&E. could not find the source. Some very unusual images appeared on the upper deck that had no outside access. They were photographed and remained until the fog washed them away about a month later.

Question: Do you hear sounds coming from underneath the ground? Special Note: People in and around Mount Shasta hear strange machinery sounds coming from the subterranean tunnels of Mount Shasta.

Answer: I don’t at this time but when I lived in the Bay Area and was experiencing the Hum at its worst sometimes I could hear very loud clanking and grinding sounds coming from below. Extremely unnerving.
