Call Of Duty: The Winter Of Our Discontent

The Monday after Veteran’s Day 2012 was considered the national holiday where many people observed the free day off from most of their troubles others saw it as an opportunity to get a good place in line to buy the latest civil war video game ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 2‘.

Irony seems to be a harsh mistress on this Veteran’s Day because there seems to be a lot of whispering among the American people about a new war. All Americans – both liberal and conservative, religious or non religious – are speaking in hushed tones this Veteran’s Day about a conflict that we may see at home. They are calling it ‘The New Civil War’.

The frightening part about it all is that while there was a wall of angry words being exchanged in the media and on various talk radio stations, the anger has now gone from vitriolic to quite a low whisper as the rumor of war is now being said to be just a short time from happening.

The underlying attitude of the over looked 32 percent of Americans is no matter who you vote for, you are voting for the enemy. This means that whatever happens either political party will implement policies that will curtail human rights and create more turmoil that will lead to either a world war or a civil war.

The biggest concern for most Americans that are speaking of the civil war is that perhaps they waited too long. People now are concerned about new laws, executive orders, police and military behaviors and new treaties with the United Nations.

The response to such a war has always been from the beginning an exercise in political sour grapes where political splinter groups like the tea party or the occupiers have captured the media attention but not a unanimous front against abusive government.

Americans unfortunately are easily exploited by these political juggernauts that have been hijacked by neo-cons, anarchists and socialists. The media lulled the American people like sheep into being “joiners” of both of these divisive cults; however these types of groups really did nothing to further the cause of change and stalled the entire process as it appeared to be mired in fanaticism.

Now it is beyond protest signs and pepper spraying people camping at parks. The over all feeling in America is that it is wise to be armed. The overall feeling in the United States is that if you do not have at least some stored food batteries and radios you will become swallowed up into the onslaught of attacks in the homeland from an unseen enemy. It is the enemy within.

There is also a warning that it is wise to now find out who your neighbors are. It is time to ask your neighborhoods to be organized. The cloud that hangs over the United States now is that no group is safe unless it is legally armed, organized and openly advocating a return to a more localized government where state constitution rules against a federal government run amok.

It was the Civil war of the 1800’s that brought us the bloodiest conflict on American soil and brought us the first war Veterans.

The election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 was the final straw for many southerners. In all 11 states seceded from the Union. Four of these (Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennessee) did not secede until after the Battle of Fort Sumter that occurred on April 12, 1861. Five additional states were Border Slave States that did not secede from the Union: Missouri, Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland and Delaware.

In similar fashion after President Obama’s decisive reelection, the White House petition website has been flooded by a series of secession requests. American citizens angry with government from New Jersey to North Dakota are submitting petitions to allow their states to withdraw from the union.

Most of the petitions submitted thus far have come from solidly conservative states, including most of the Deep South and reliably separatist Texas. But handfuls are surprisingly coming from liberal states like Oregon and New York.

Many of the petitions invoke the Declaration of Independence’s dramatic assertion that “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and institute new Government.”

Adding insult to Barack Obama’s presidency is that the petitions are being placed on the “We the people” section of the website which is said to give “all Americans a way to engage their government on the issues that matter to them.” The White House promises that “If a petition meets the signature threshold, it will be reviewed by the Administration and will receive a response.”

People who are not exactly aware of the tension wonder why there is such a problem in the United States.

We still hear the sound bites like “sharing the wealth” and “socialist” and with unemployment still being a problem and a poor economy the country is at the breaking point and there could be all sorts of plots to change the way government is run. The federal government is already prepared for any uprising due to a banking crisis, revolt, or any other event where citizens will organize against their government.

Establishment of civilian operations all jurisdictions in a “police state” proposal would be over seen by the Active Army, Army National guard, U.S. Army reserve, or even a private security force if indicated. During mobilization the Army chief of staff can modify “at will” any of the plans and use any force necessary to carry out enforcement of the established proposals under Martial law.

If you want to know the truth The United States Government has had plans in place since 2003 to be prepared in case of any civil unrest. The ambitious 10-year Homeland Security strategic plan, code-named ENDGAME, expands “a mission first articulated in the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798.” Its goal is the capability to “remove all removable aliens,” including “illegal economic migrants, aliens who have committed criminal acts, asylum-seekers (required to be retained by law) or potential terrorists.” It has now been expanded to include the homeless, the sick or infected populace, seditionists and homegrown terrorists that wish to rise up against the government.

The incarceration rate and the inmate inventory may be so great that many facilities may not be able to hold the civilian inmate population. There have been other proposals hidden within ENDGAME that include virtual “cities” of inmate labor and “tent cities” that can be established to house any and all prisoners in the wake of a national crisis.

ENDGAME statistics from homeland security can make one feel a little paranoid. The focus according to the new intelligence stated that right wing extremists and libertarians are likely to be your next terrorists. Not to mention that Veterans are also seen as a threat to the government and are on watch lists to make sure they don’t post anything suspicious on Facebook or twitter because a disgruntled veteran is seen as a major threat to the government now.

Could it be that the reason why they are targets is because they know what it means to defend the constitution against threats both foreign and domestic?

Robert A. Heinlein wrote:

“Sick cultures show a complex of symptoms, but a dying culture invariably exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners, lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A loss of politeness, of gentle manners, which is more significant than an all out riot.”

The first targets of social war are the media, artists and performers, talk show hosts and newspaper columnists. Then in some cases the next targets are bank officials and business owners. Civil wars often break out when the people lose faith in the Military and the police to protect them from the Executive branch of government that appears to be running amok. If this sounds like some blueprint for some destructive social engineering dynamic you are right.

There is no doubt that there is a social concern deep rooted in the lack of faith about the Executive branch and how they are now moving towards removing more civil rights for no apparent reason.

These decisions are being played off in the media as some sort of post election angst, however the media seems to forget that these ideas were first being talked about after the second term of President Bush and was completely forgotten about when Barack Obama arrived to tell us that he could provide hope and change. For four years we were kept in limbo waiting for any significant change and no matter what Obama supporters will tell you, the country has not been able to keep at bay their anger and disillusionment.

The unfortunate thing is that Barack Obama just happens to be the President that was handed an angry and divided America that does not see the change. They see varying opinions and they hear the same worn out issues but it certainly doesn’t guarantee a future for America.

Once again Americans are losing their faith. Americans now see their future as a dark foreboding end where their children will grow up in a culture of brutality, a culture where Americans no longer care about the value of human life. We are now in a place where there seems to be a disconnect between our leadership and human values. We are now seeing a time where the weak are no longer defended and the powerful seek to trample them underfoot and use tools of fear and coercion to get their way.

The leadership in the United States is being corrupted by sociopaths, thugs and “hitmen” with kill lists and mechanized death machines that can be used to surgically remove any American without due process of law.

Elections now are no longer being used to choose leaders; they are being directed by television producers and handled like sporting events. For some odd reason we see the political structure narrowed down to two teams. Those two teams are then presented like a football roster and people join either side for reasons they really don’t understand. It is only fashionable to be “loyal” to the home team even though all of the programs across the board are falling apart and suffering.

The left and right paradigm has run its course and Americans are too addicted to the “game mentality” that they think that a popular vote will change everything when the electorate has a different view of what the popular vote wants.

The division split 50/50 idea becomes an embarrassment and a manufactured invitation for civil unrest. The most vocal are the religious and at times they sound like extremists. Both the conservative and liberal argument sickens those who demand more than a two opinion solution. It all becomes a darker and sick joke. The influence of any proposed solution becomes shot down over whether or not it is conservative or liberal. You will never see a republican criticize a republican or a democrat criticize the president and in the moment of clarity we realize it is a never ending exercise in idiocy. Those who choose rational solutions to the nation’s problems, inevitably sink into cynicism and bitterness.

The new American currency is violence and cynicism. The new challenge is to sift through the conspiracy theories in order to find some sort of truth about what is really going on because of the failure of the fourth estate. Military intelligence is failing and Americans are dying and there is no accountability as to why.

We are being exposed to horror stories of a military that is out of control. We hare that they are killing civilians, fellow soldiers, and families and loved ones in murder suicides. The occupy movement is there to demonstrate police brutality and so faith in any form of government is being lost and in turn the President signs executive orders to keep him in charge in the event of a civil revolt.

Is the picture plain enough? Are we now starting to see what is happening?

Once a national security state has created a culture of fear and suppressed dissent, it may safely consolidate power, with minimal questioning by the media or challenges from dissident voices. When a government consolidates its power it is able to change without much rebellion. Policies, laws, and even constitutions are rewritten and soon the very thing you feared about your government becomes evident.

The time for preparedness is now.
