ExoCreationism: Where God Began To Be
WHERE GOD BEGAN TO BE
At the beginning of the week, a group of typical hard-lined scientists met to discuss, what they say is, the reality that the vast regions of the cosmos are just wasted space after all.
Some scientists think that just because exo-planets could have habitable environments, that does not mean that life evolved there.
Charles Cockell, the director of the U.K. Center for Astrobiology at the University of Edinburgh, said in a statement that: “The pervasive nature of life on Earth is leading us to make this assumption On our planet, carbon leaches into most habitat space and provides energy for microorganisms to live. There are only a few vacant habitats that may persist for any length of time on Earth, but we cannot assume that this is the case on other planets.”
Cockell’s hypothesis states that, although habitable planets might abound in solar systems around the universe, it does not mean these locales harbor extraterrestrial life.
“It is dangerous to assume life is common across the universe. It encourages people to think that not finding signs of life is a ‘failure,’ when in fact it would tell us a lot about the origins of life.”
In the meantime, while the cynicism of the origins of life and the possibility of a multiple genesis theory is dismissed in one area of the world, another reports that there are signs that life here on earth most certainly came from space. Researchers have found algae-like fossils in meteorite fragments that landed in Sri Lanka last year.
This is the strongest evidence yet of cometary Panspermia.
Panspermia is the notion that that life on Earth began when a meteorite or comet containing simple organisms landed here, billions of years ago and perhaps more importantly, that there’s life elsewhere in the universe.
It was also announced on March 13th, 2013 by a Penn State researcher that the number of potentially habitable planets is greater than previously thought and that some of those planets are likely lurking around nearby stars. “According to Ravi Kopparapu, a post-doctoral researcher in geosciences, the average distance to the nearest potentially habitable planet is about seven light years. That is about half the distance of previous estimates,” Kopparapu said. “There are about eight cool stars within 10 light-years, so conservatively, we should expect to find about three Earth-size planets in the habitable zones.”
While it is remarkable news, it seems that more we edge colder to the possibility of the idea of exocreationism there are many others willing to silence it in favor of more primitive thoughts on the origins of mankind.
The narratives that have their focus on science and religion are sending mixed messages to the consensus. Mankind is hell bent on discovering our origins and reenacting the big bang in huge colliders. Their objectives are to find the natural key to open the doorway to the mind of God and understand what it is like to have the power of God in their hands.
The elusive particle, called a Higgs boson, was predicted in 1964 to help fill in our understanding of the creation of the universe, which many theorize occurred in a massive explosion known as the Big Bang.
The particle was named for Peter Higgs, one of the physicists who proposed its existence, but it later became popularly known as the “God particle.”
The particle’s existence helps confirm the theory that objects gain their size and shape when particles interact in an energy field with a key particle, the Higgs boson. The more they attract, the bigger their mass will be – or so the theory goes.
With this knowledge, we are edging closer to understanding how creation began and how powerful that force is on a quantum level. Many will entertain the idea that this is man playing God or trying to circumvent the magic that God has kept secret from mankind since the beginning of time.
The secrets of the creation process are revealing themselves and perhaps it is time that we realize that there may be that halfway point between the romanticism of the religious story of creation and the scientific method in which creation manifests and data confirms.
This opens the door to an even greater discussion as to what or even who is responsible for why we are here, where we are going, and how and why we exist.
You may not believe in powers that exist beyond earth and beyond man’s comprehension, but it is evident that religious organizations now believe or at least have their ideas about the probability of exobiology, space agencies around the world are entertaining the ideas of life out in space and that the United States Military, NASA and other black ops organizations have sensitive information that they have kept from the American people regarding strange anomalous activities in space. It is getting to the point where NASA is no longer capable of keeping everything “top secret.” Some things cannot easily be explained by science.
NASA is finding it harder to hide the truth about an “alien” presence on earth and in the solar system. They are also finding it harder to hide the fact that the solar system is going through some abrupt changes.
Is NASA telling us everything about what is going on in the Solar System? Is there a massive cover up about the Sun, alien life, and the life span of the earth? Before you discount the possibilities there needs to be some evidence right?
Satellites have been showing signs of being pulled by some unexplained gravitational force. Science has yet to explain the anomaly. They are calling it the “Pioneer Anomaly” as spacecraft are being pulled out of their orbits and are causing erratic behavior. What is this great force that is out in space that is invisible and yet powerful enough to be felt and seen acting upon matter around it?
What is that great unseen force that forces us into a cataclysmic cycle that literally erases civilizations and then much later brings them back to flourish again?
Isn’t it time to include such discussions in schools?
The debate has always been whether or not to have equal time in the school curriculum for a faith based explanation or “Creationism” as an alternative to the more “Evolutionary” explanation for scientific discoveries.
These ideas sometimes are bordering on, or are fully, a delusional response to the phenomenon.
Those who wish to persuade the teachers and school authorities to teach creationism are at times militant and at the same time really do not have a definition of just what entails the creationism story. Is it all summed up with “Once upon a time” or even “In the beginning”?
It is not exactly clear as to exactly what the militant religious want taught in the public schools; however, there seems to be this halfway point where both the religious and scientific can find satisfaction that a well-rounded curriculum of both science and intelligent design resides without all of the dogmatic militant religiousness in the matter.
Believing there’s something else “out there” (where ever that may be) that is largely unknown is one thing, but faith in specific attributes about that unknown thing, especially relating to the typical cataclysmic model, is quite another. The cataclysmic model worked for our ancestors and a possible doomsday on the horizon seems to be working again for things like global warming and the fear of Islam.
The cataclysmic model has been used as a tool for the religious to show that acts of God are merely part of his wrath in matters of sin and godlessness, and in times where oppressed people like the Hebrews can find freedom by adhering to certain habits that keep them from being erased from existence.
However, it takes science to try and explain the natural methods of a power or a force that religious just call ‘God’.
Astrobiological explanations have blanketed the mainstream news lately giving us hints and clues that the probability of life everywhere in the Universe is highly likely. There are still the rigid scientists that want some of this speculation to go away. It seems that the universe is beginning to become less mysterious and more indicative of how we became living breathing beings on this planet. Dr. Michael Callahan, from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center had recently given another firm push into the idea that the earth was seeded by comets and meteors.
Panspermia had been talked about since the 1960’s, however the idea of living cells coming from space was dismissed based on the possibility of contamination from earthly contact.
The team found adenine and guanine in samples extracted from twelve carbon-rich meteorite. These are two of the nucleobases of Deoxyribonucleic acid. The other two are cytosine and thymine. Together, the four carry the encoding that makes possible life on Earth—and possibly other places around the Universe.
This could mean that there would be no need to look for aliens because we are the aliens.
According to the research, the discovery “gives support to the theory that a “kit” of ready-made parts created in space and delivered to Earth by meteorite and comet impacts assisted the origin of life.” The obvious implication of this discovery is that, if life blocks are spread through the universe through comets and asteroids that impact on planets, the possibilities of life that uses the same blocks on other planets is a very real one.
I believe that now would be a great time to start a movement where an organization produces a petition to science, and to the education curriculum for the option of teaching students the scientific idea that this planet was seeded and that human forms evolved over time.
This is the halfway point between the creationism and evolution arguments that people believe should be included in school curricula. It is the halfway point because Panspermia or the seeding of the earth can open the door for discussions about evolution, Darwin’s black box, and directed Panspermia, that could have been engineered by a God or even a group of interplanetary scientists or astronauts.
Astrobiology, if taught properly, can be the starting point for meaningful discussion about evolution and the gradual creation provided by a God, and alien or even natural means without any ties to a deity.
Darwin once wrote that: “The mystery of the beginning of all things is insoluble to us; and I for one must be content to remain an Agnostic.”
In other words, when it came down to the idea of creation, he really didn’t know what happened.
I contend that we should not have such a limited scope on our possibilities and now is the time to strike while the iron is hot. In my opinion, the talk of exploring the sun the asteroids and comets for information about our origins is our first step in understanding that we have not been alone in the universe.
The action of scientists in the matter of Panspermia whether directed or accidental strengthens the argument that life exists outside of the Earth, because the building blocks for that life are being smashed into planets all the time.
Life seems to be a constant in the universe and we owe to our progeny to preserve it. We owe it to our progeny to dispel the mythologies and create a healthy medium between the dogmas of religion and the critique and rigidity of science.
