Question for Michelle: Tell us something personal about yourself. Your hobbies, recreational activities, family life, TV shows & movies you like, books you like and anything else you would like to reveal about yourself?

Answer: I’ve been interested in ghostly paranormal tales since I was very young. I like to create art when I can using various art mediums and it’s usually based on something inspired by the metaphysical and paranormal. My day job keeps me pretty busy so my most recent works have been created at Chalk It Up over the last few years. I am currently working on a short film for the Sacramento Library Poe Project. I also enjoy going to punk and rockabilly shows and vintage car shows when I get the chance. I am currently enjoying the Conscious Dance class at Ancient Future in Midtown. It’s such a nice thing to have close to home.

I currently reside with my boyfriend, Marvin and our 3 cats; Owen, Bongo, and Cherry, in midtown. Fun Fact! We live very close to Dorthea Puente’s infamous home. We see lots of tourists come by. It’s kind of funny to see people freak themselves out when they walk by. 

Question for Marvin (Michelle’s boyfriend): Tell us something personal about yourself. Your hobbies, recreational activities, family life, TV shows & movies you like, books you like and anything else you would like to reveal about yourself?

Answer: I have been interested in tabletop miniature gaming for 27 years and am an active gamer in the community. Besides that, my hobbies are PC gaming and dancing at the local goth clubs in town. Music is a big part of my life as I spend at least 8-10 hours a day listening to various genres. From classical, country western, punk, goth and hip hop, it’s all included. 

Question: Michelle, you used to be with API (American Paranormal Investigations), how long were you with this group?

Answer: I was with API for 7 years and I am still helping out here and there. 

Question: What significant case stands out in your mind with API?

Answer: Unfortunately because API is a 501©3 NPO and we have a privacy clause I cannot share too much about the cases. Without divulging too many details one opf was the craziest. When we were investigating a residential location and things were getting a little weird. There were strange rappings, not the musical kind, the knocking kind. Our team leader for that night stopped the investigation and we met up in a private room to discuss whether or not we should move forward with the rest of the investigation. We were in a semi-circle standing up and my teammate lifted off the ground about 6 inches above me and was thrown in my direction. I had to use my body like a football player to block her from hitting the corner of a wall that was jutting out. It was one of the only times we told the clients they should probably move. We ended that investigation early.

Special Note: My group HPI discusses with each client if they wish to remain confidential. About 85 percent of my clients enjoy having their stories told in my books, which has generated 8 documentaries for HPI. 

Question: How come you don’t belong to API anymore?

Answer: I love API and the experiences I had with them. I am still involved with them through another group I am part of called Manifest. We offer up sensitive work, tarot readings, house blessings, Reiki, along with many other things.

Question: Are you still investigating and if you are, who are you investigating with?

Answer: I am now working with Manifest Readings & Healings Center. We offer our help to other local groups. If your team does not use sensitives and wants to try using one, we are there to help out. Or if your team’s sensitives all know about a case and you need another person to read a location for you we’d love to help. You can find us on Facebook or Google us.

Special Note from Paul: My group HPI has 43 investigators. 12 of them have psychic abilities. Some of the psychics I have are mind boggling as they can give details to the occupants that are 100 percent accurate. Just think, at one time in my life, I didn’t believe in psychics. 

Question: You had a significant paranormal experience, can you explain?

Answer: The reason I am sharing this particular paranormal experience is because it is very much something I am not into. It took me by complete surprise. And I was not alone in it. I always kind of giggled when people mention Bigfoot to me. I have been interested in mostly ghostly stories and also have studied UFOlogy when I was much younger. The UFO stuff was way too creepy to me, but I have had paranormal experiences with spirits my entire life. I was not going to mention what I have seen until my boyfriend mentioned it. 

We were traveling north up the coast towards Oregon through Hwy 1 just past Fort Bragg. It was about dusk and the sun was almost down. We were driving under a canopy of trees and I thought I was seeing someone short standing in the road. Since I am a person that ‘sees things’ on a regular basis, I was not going to mention it. It was different looking than what I normally see, in that is was hairy and I could not see a face. It seemed like we drove right through it. My hairs stood on end and we drove a little further. My first thought is that it was a ghost of a wolf-man boy like the boys from Mexico with that disorder that makes you grow hair on your face. I was not even thinking about Bigfoot. 

By the way, I’m totally okay about people thinking I’m crazy. If it helps someone else not feel so crazy, I’m all about it. 

Special Note: Besides the fact that I am a paranormal investigator, I am also a paranormal investigative journalist. I have found that people I interview or investigate, want their story told, they seek out others that have experienced the same thing that they have. Yes, Michelle, share your story.

Question: Marvin, you sort of experienced the same thing, can you explain?

Answer: We were traveling to Oregon on Highway 1, just past Fort Bragg. The sun had just started to disappear and we were coming around a dark turn in the road. I noticed what looked to be a short hairy man about 3’ tall standing to the left of the road. We passed it very quickly, so I didn’t have a chance to slow down and check it out. I thought I was just tired since we had been on the road for about 6 hours. I kind of laughed about it and told my girlfriend that I just saw a monkey boy on the side of the road. She had this look on her face that told me something was up. She said, “Oh my god, I saw the same thing.” She said she didn’t want to tell me about it because she normally sees stuff like that all the time. But when I said that she had to say something. I told her I saw the figure to the side of the road, however she saw it in the middle of the road. According to her, we drove right through it. Later, we arrived in Eureka and got a hotel room. My girlfriend asked me to draw what I saw and she would do the same. After we drew the pictures, we showed them to each other. They were pretty much the same picture.
