Arizona cop assaults ghost hunter

A paranormal investigator was assaulted by an Arizona police officer last week. The Independence Day weekend confrontation was captured on video on Friday, July 5 in Tempe, Arizona. The paranormal enthusiast was at a 24-hour storage unit that he utilizes to store ghost hunting equipment when the manager and a police officer barged into the unit.

The tenant was surprised to see a Tempe police officer open the door of his storage unit. Before stating why the peace officer was there, threats began as soon as the cop opened his mouth. The officer threatened to hide drugs in the ghost guy’s unit. After hearing these comments, the paranormal investigator immediately started rolling video on his cell phone.

In the video, the sprit seeker is seen being evicted at the storage facility by the manager then accused of trespassing by the police officer. Within minutes after the record button was pushed things started to get physical.

The victim is seen holding a large Big Gulp cup in one hand and filming with the other. The poorly trained police officer seemed to sense some sort of threat as he argues and shoves the unarmed man.

After a few minutes of pleading with the officer to make sure his things are secured, the man is punched multiple times, slammed into a chain-link fence, then forced onto the pavement. In an attempt to stop the filming, the officer knocks the phone to the ground which ends the video.

While the man’s arms are forced painfully behind his back, the officer threatens to plant drugs in the storage unit and take the man to jail. The guy pleads with the cop to let him go and surprisingly the officer lets him walk away from the beat down without being arrested for a made-up charge.

Just days before this incident, another Tempe police officer was caught on video texting while riding on a police motorcycle down the freeway.

“The Tempe Police Department does not condone this. Training will be provided to reduce the chance of our officers putting themselves in similar dangerous situations in the future.” The Tempe Police Department released a statement admitting that their officers need training.
