MUFON of Indiana seeking more field investigators

At the state meeting today, which was held in Valparaiso Public Library to make it easier for people to attend, the need for more field investigators was clearly a major issue. A little over 30 members of the public attended. 

David Henninger, a state section director from Greenfield, stated: “We want to get greater interest in this area and recruit more field investigators for Northwest Indiana. We have a lot of sightings, but not a lot of field investigators.”

Stewart Hill, state director of Indiana’s MUFON, was one of the presenters during a state meeting at the Valparaiso Public Library. It was held Saturday, September 21, and drew over 30 people.

Indiana has averaged more than 200 UFO cases a year for the past few years, Hill said, and there are between one dozen and two dozen here each year.

Timothy Wagner of Columbia City, a MUFON field investigator since 2008, explained what is involved in being a field investigator: “Mostly it’s lights in the sky, forms, that sort of thing. Sometimes it’s close encounters, but they’re usually not so close.”

Wagner added that he hasn’t investigated any cases involving extraterrestrial entities — yet.
