WITNESS SEES TRIANGLE UFO NEAR FARMINGTON RIVER, CONNECTICUT

A Connecticut witness driving southbound along Terry Plains Road in Simsbury reported getting as close as 300 feet to a hovering, triangle-shaped UFO and then following it, according to February 5, 2014, testimony from Case 53913 in the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was driving home from work at 11:40 p.m. on January 3, 2014, when bright lights caught his attention above a wooded area close to the Farmington River. The witness first thought the lights might be a plane as there are two airports in the area, but then realized they were not moving – and eventually ruled out a helicopter, search lights and a tower.

“The lights I saw were extremely bright,” the witness stated. “There were three white lights and one center red light in a triangular formation. As I drove closer within 300 feet from the object, I could see it hovering just above the trees.”

The witness then drove closer to the object for a better look.

“When I saw it move by me I realized that the object also had multiple white lights on the sides of the triangle as well. I didn’t see those side lights because of the position the object was in initially when I came upon it and the brightness of the main three white lights.”

The witness then stopped his vehicle and turned it around in an effort to find a better view of the object. He also attempted to pull out his cell phone camera, but instead concentrated on driving.

“Now I was headed in the same direction as the object but couldn’t see it because it was hidden behind the tree line. I thought I might see it again just up ahead a little in the opening were there are horse stables and a side road to stop my car.”

The witness then opened up a moon roof and looked up.

“It felt like it was right over my car. I looked up through my moon roof window and was startled so much that I remember saying out loud ‘it’s right there.’ I felt as if ‘they’ caught me watching them. At that point I didn’t stick around to watch it any longer.”

The witness reports no other cars along the roadway at the time, but is hoping an additional witnesses will come forward who saw the same thing.

Simsbury is a suburban town in Hartford County, CT, population 23,511. Connecticut is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Connecticut was the 21st highest reporting state with 9 reports in January 2014 – while California had 102 reports – the highest reporting state in the nation.
