Mr. Entity

MR. ENTITY

Today the news that was on every TV station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada was the allegedly possessed woman that was recorded on video attacking a passenger on the transit train.

There were two videos shot of the woman. The first video shows the young woman looking agitated. She was running her fingers through her hair and then removing a crucifix from her neck and then retracting in her seat. The woman appears to be drugged or suffering from some disorder.

Then the second video show the same woman. She looks into her bag, grabs her cell phone, reads something and then she grimaces and growls. She then takes a predatory stance and attacks a passenger.

The woman punches the man, then pulls on his pony tail and then walks towards the exit. The man gets up and then attacks her throwing her over the seat. The woman hits the floor and twitches as police arrest the man she attacked.

According to the news sources, both were fined $500 for fighting on the train.

While there are practical explanations for what was happening on the train, it most certainly appeared that the woman was possessed in some way. It was not reported that the woman suffered from any mental disorder or whether or not she was on drugs.

(WARNING: VIDEO CONTAINS HARSH LANGUAGE)

However, it is just one more strange case of unwarranted attacks on innocent people with some sort of predatory intent that appears to be similar to what we have been conditioned to believe is demonic possession.

I know that for some people it is hard to believe that things like hauntings and even demon possessions exist. For some time, there were really no reports to talk about. There were only historical accounts of such things that eventually become embellished and legendary. Many of the stories become fodder for Hollywood movie scripts.

However, as we discussed with Cris Putnam, the supernatural world view is changing and two thirds of the American people give respectful consideration to the paranormal and many of the things that were once dismissed as hallucinations, or mental abnormalities are now being accepted as unexplainable phenomena that seems to replicate or increase.

Cultural anthropologists no longer dismiss these experiences as mere mental illnesses. In fact there has been a consistent appearance throughout history of various satanic panics. Granted many of these panics are connected to mass hysteria and group think, there are now actions and intentions where antiquated ritual and intent have been involved in creating the social trance needed conjure various demons and entities.

Cultural anthropologists have a term for the intentional ratcheting up of opposition to an idea or an experience, it is called schismogenesis. In fact, cultural anthropologists have acknowledged that the paranormal experience is part of the human experience and is far more normal than paranormal and should not be dismissed as some psychological disorder.

It can be said that Americans now have been forced into a sort of schismogenesis in all matters. We are divided politically, religiously and even with matters of paranormal activity. It is like there is this ongoing battle for superiority and conflict which breeds the same toxic environment of confusion and by some sick irony the environment is a hive for all kind of chaotic and misguided thought. The same environment that true believers say demons dwell in.

We can’t simply draw lines in the sand and say that the human experience is not full of unexplained or supernatural activity. Everyone has an experience that they can’t explain. Some deny it and others embrace it.

Here we are at the renaissance of science and technology and the most complex system, that is the human brain, is the only system that is able to receive the signals that we see as logical and the others that we still do not know exactly where they come from and why they show up in the first place.

The idea of monsters, possessions, and the sightings of demons has leapt from mere campfire stories to real experiences that are happening with greater frequency today than ever before.

There are plenty of witnesses that say that the real nightmares are happening in the real world and that destructive spirits and unexplainable activity has increased.

In January of 2014, the mainstream news was reporting various stories of haunted houses and possession. The focus was on a report out of the Indianapolis Star about a home that was allegedly haunted in Gary, Indiana.

The story began with a peculiar tale of a woman and three children who claimed to be possessed by demons and a 9-year-old boy walking backward up a wall in the presence of a family case manager and hospital nurse.

Ground Zero had the opportunity to interview Gary Police Capt. Charles Austin about the case and while he was skeptical at first about the claims of Latoya Ammons and her haunted house, he soon realized that he was also experiencing some strange activity in the home.

Just as the chapter was about to close on the Indiana exorcism story the priest involved in the terrifying case inked a movie deal and the house was was recently bought by Zak Bagans who is the host of ‘Ghost Adventurers’. As The Blaze reported, “The Rev. Michael Maginot, the faith leader who has claimed that what he saw and experienced at Latoya Ammons’ home was not of this world, reportedly signed a film deal with Evergreen Media Holdings’ executive chairman Tony DeRosa-Grund. DeRosa-Grund also produced “The Conjuring,” a similar story about a family who claims their Rhode Island farm house was infested with purported demonic spirits.

The Conjuring‘ is a terrifying film about the true story that was originally reported by demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. The story is about Carolyn and Roger Perron and how their family was terrorized by restless spirits in their Rhode Island home. Ed and Lorraine Warren also investigated many other demon haunted homes and have documented every case.

Another fascinating story involving the Warrens is the story of Deborah Moffitt. Deborah’s story has been featured in the new book “A Deadly Haunting” by Joie Albrecht. The Moffitts were terrorized by an entity that was left behind in their home. The demonic entity was actually the result of an occult ritual that was performed in the home.

From ADeadlyHaunting.com:

In 1984, Bill Moffitt’s grandmother Dominca was dying. His family had hired a housekeeper, a Guatemalan lady named Juanita, to take care of the ailing woman. With her health rapidly deteriorating, Dominica’s odds of survival were slimming by the day. Juanita became anxious. She desperately wanted Dominica to live, for the prospect of returning to Central America filled her with dread. It was not known at the time, but it is believed that Juanita had attempted to perform a healing ritual for Dominica. Old blood stains and broken rosary beads had been discovered, the latter of which had been deliberately placed around Dominica’s house. With this evidence in mind, various psychics told Bill that Juanita may have been a practitioner of Santeria and tried to use magic to keep his grandmother alive.

One evening, Dominca was rushed to the hospital. She was suffering from congestive heart failure. For days, Juania stayed at the hospital with her, refusing to leave her side even for a moment. Eventually, Bill’s mother (Dominca’s daughter) Lee convinced the woman to return to Dominica’s home and get some rest. Juanita reluctantly complied. Within minutes of her departure, Dominica died.

Later, in the middle of the night, Lee received a frantic phone call. Juanita was begging for help, screaming that something evil was in the house with her. Bill and his cousin rushed over and as they did, Juanita emerged from the house, shrieking as an orb chased her outside. The orb suddenly ascended into the sky and dissipated. Amazed by what they had seen, Bill and his cousin helped Juanita back to Lee’s home. Comforted by the company of people around her, the woman calmed down but refused to sleep, warning Lee not to enter Dominica’s house. A friend picked her up the next morning. The Moffitts never heard from Juanita again.

The next few years were mostly quiet. Bill married his fiance Deborah. He had also inherited his aunt’s house, while Lee began renting out her mother’s vacant home. All of their property stood on the same street…

Aside from a few peculiar tenants, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. There were no paranormal manifestations or strange happenings. Due to Bill’s health issues, he and Deborah lived with his parents. The house he had inherited was free to be rented out as well. A young man soon moved in, and it was then that observable phenomena began to occur. At first, these occurrences started in Bill’s house. They were non-threatening and at worst, inconvenient. Household knickknacks were constantly moved from their proper places. But then, strange symbols began to appear above all the light switches in the house. Bill had assumed that the tenant was responsible, until the young man’s belongings began to show up in Lee’s house. Underwear, wallets, watches, and all kinds of personal possessions started appearing on Lee’s prayer altar. How could they possibly explain this to their tenant?

Soon enough, the young man moved out, citing, but never explaining, the weird things happening in the house as the reason why. Bill rented out to a few more tenants, but after this supernatural activity escalated into something dangerous, he decided to sell his property. The Moffitts had intended on moving into a new house regardless, but Lee’s fear of the paranormal made her especially eager to sell both of her properties. Moffitt family soon moved into another house in Alta Loma.

Things were peaceful for a time, but it didn’t last. To Lee’s horror, the same phenomena that had plagued her tenants began occurring in their new residence in 1987. A symbol soon appeared on the bathroom mirror, a large triangle with an “s”-shape trail hanging below. It was a message, a wordless warning that there was no escape…

For the next four years of their lives, they lived in fear, tormented by an unseen assailant they called Mr. Entity. Paranormal experts from across the county came, but none could help. Mr. Entity, left his marks everywhere, with knives stuck in walls and through chairs, religious icons destroyed, and in the scars left on the family, mentally and physically.

Even more terrifying, the entity directly communicated with them. It wrote on mirrors, gouged carvings in wood, and scribbled on walls, etching strange symbols, demanding blood sacrifices and sending warnings. Above all else, Mr. Entity made his dark intentions clear: “Lee will die”

One of the more outrageous accounts reported by the Moffitts was that the demonic entity produced an apport from another realm to be used in a ritual sacrifice. For those that do not know what an apport is, it is quite simply an artifact that is produced through paranormal means.

The apport in this case was an ornate spear that was brought into the house by the entity in order to end Lee’s life in a satanic ritual.

Not long after it appeared, the Moffitts took the spear to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles to be examined. Amazingly, the spear was identified as an artifact from the Belgian Congo and was said to be over 200 years old.

It was not a weapon designed for hunting, but rather it served as a shaman’s tool for use in various rituals. During the haunting, many different practitioners of the occult came to the Moffitt house, several of whom had attempted to steal the spear. Fortunately, they still have the spear in their possession.

Apports are usually the result of a conjuring ritual where artifacts are brought over from the other side. There are also deports where objects disappear form our world and are sent into the spirit world. Apports can be anything from small artifacts to plants and animals that come from the other side.

While much of what is being reported about the case is interspersed with fiction there have been arguments over whether or not Mr. Entity was in reality a tulpa that was created by Juanita to kill Lee because elderly father Bill Sr. was having a secret relationship with Juanita and that she believed that Bill would divorce Lee and marry her so she would not have to return to her native country.

The possibility that fear, guilt and anger triggered the arrival of the dark entity are most certainly a factor in the Moffitt case.

The idea that most of the newly reported cases of paranormal activity can also be attributed to times where we are all full of anxiety and anger which most certainly trigger the release of what Carl Jung called dark archetypes.

Perhaps the newly found paranormal world view can all be summed up in the idea that “Yes, we do live in a demon haunted world and that the demons are conjured up by our own thoughts and will.”
