An officer stationed at a local Air Defense installation woke up, unable to sleep and immediately went to the window. Looking out he suddenly saw a strange object appear. The hovering object was encircled in a rainbow of lights. He could not hear any engine sound and could not readily identified the object as he was familiar with Russian aircraft and the newer American mode…ls which were then operating in nearby Yugoslavia. He immediately ran to the radar room and asked the men on duty to perform a scan to see if there were any ‘intruders’ over the area. He was told that the screen was completely clear. There hadn’t been any visual reports by the sentries around the facility also. The officer decided to investigate himself and entered a nearby forested area in an attempt to search for the unknown object. Suddenly after walking only about 20 meters he felt an extreme fear. He could also sense a strange vibration in his body, his knees buckled and the air around him sparkled and snapped. He tried to find the source of the phenomenon but had not seen anything unusual. Suddenly he turned around and was confronted by a disc-shaped craft about 10-12 meters in diameter and about 3-4 feet tall. The object was hovering at about 50 inches above the ground and was only 15-20 meters away from the witness (as far as he could judge in the dark) it hung motionless, and he didn’t see any landing gear. The object was black or dark brown in color with a rough surface. He could see four square windows from which a pale pink light shone. On one of the small windows he the silhouette of a small figure looking out, his initial fear turned to curiosity. However as he attempted to approach the hovering object the windows became brighter and it began to rise slowly and then at very high speed until it disappeared into the sky. He never heard a sound.
