Where In The World Is Port Chicago?

This year has been a year where whistleblowers and others have been aware of nuclear drill operations and the possible detonation of a low-yield nuke in Iran. There is still a great amount of anxiety with people who believe that a nuclear false flag attack is in our future and that criminal elements with the United States government will find a way to detonate a small nuclear device in a major city and declare martial law.

In early 2014, as Truther.org reported, “the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) conducted an Aerial Radiation Assessment Survey (ARAS) in both Northern New Jersey and New York City just 10 days prior to Super Bowl XLVIII in apparent preparation for [a] nuclear event…”

This triggered all sorts of nuclear conspiracy activity about he possibility that the Super Bowl would be the place for the new ‘ground zero’.

Zero Hedge reported that, “this particular drill was dripping with symbolism aimed squarely at NATO and the US.

So now it is America’s turn to retaliate. As the U.S. Strategic Command reported earlier, the US will conduct Exercise Global Lightning 14 from May 12-16 in coordination with other combatant commands, services, and appropriate U.S. government agencies “to deter and detect strategic attacks against the U.S. and its allies.”

Stratcom was quick to point out that Exercise Global Lightning 14 has been planned for more than a year and is based on a notional scenario. It also added that the “timing of the exercise is unrelated to real-world events” but only those who believed that Russia massive nuclear drill was also unrelated to world will fall for this particular embellishment. As Defense One observes, according to Mark Schneider, a former U.S. Defense Department nuclear strategy official, told the Washington Free Beacon that Russia’s drill last week seemed aimed at sending a message of “nuclear intimidation” to the United States and NATO over Ukraine. He noted that Moscow typically stages its atomic exercises in the fall.”

Once again, drills have been known to go real time and the white knuckle events of nuclear hard ball often keep people on edge because sometimes accidents happen and when they do , it always ends up being an opportunity for military campaigns and new wars to be fought.

A nuclear war has been on the mind of many people this year and while it is a common sight to see conspiracy theorists spinning yarns of nuclear false flags, there are histories of accidents and other scandals that to this day are being erased from history.

Back in October of last year, the Ground Zero team was investigating the haunting of the Martinez Gazette in California. There were reports that the former editor of the paper Richard Gaikowski was haunting the historic newspaper building and claiming the he was the Zodiac killer. The investigation was a success and there was plenty of information and evidence to show that there was a haunting taking place there in the Bay area.

During our off-time, there were few members of the crew that had to go and set up video shots while others were doing other investigations. While we were en route to another location for filming Olav Phillips, Roger Clooten and myself got a little lost and wound up in a restricted military area. We were uneasy about this because we could not believe that nestled in what looked like a normal residential area was a military garrison and checkpoint that was heavily armed and blocked by a gate.

We asked where we ended up and Olav had informed us that we had strayed out towards Concord Naval Base and that there was a mysterious history about the base that he would speak to us about at a later time. In the meantime we needed to get out of that area because we were not allowed anywhere near the base.

I have been near restricted areas before, but most of them are located in remote areas far from any civilization. From Area 51 in Roswell, New Mexico to the Dugway Proving Grounds in the western Utah desert, the Cold War-era secret bases were a hotbed for rumors about exotic craft being tested and possible alien activity.

Olav had said that this area was restricted for several reasons, but mainly because: “The Concord NWS was listed as a Superfund cleanup site on December 16, 1994. 32 areas of the facility were identified as having been contaminated with heavy metals including zinc, copper, lead, cadmium, and arsenic, as well as semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOC) and organochloride pesticides. An area of great concern is the risk to the endangered Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse and the California Clapper Rail. Environmental remediation is underway at the base with some sites having soil removed and others being capped to prevent spread of contaminants.”

The base was used during World War II in order to provide armaments to ships that were docked at Port Chicago.

Where and what is that, you ask?

Port Chicago now is just a memory and is an area of the country that the military has attempted to erase from history.

In the world of conspiracy theory, there are so many stories that are spun in order to fill in the blanks and sometimes find inconvenient truths about how treachery exists in places of government.

However, in the case of Port Chicago, an event happened there in 1944 that the government hopes you forget and the event has actually to this day requires a ‘Q clearance‘ to get anywhere near the port city in the Bay Area.

From the 1996 article in Nexus Magazine:

“On the night of 17th July 1944, two transport vessels loading ammunition at the Port Chicago (California) naval base on the Sacramento River were suddenly engulfed in a gigantic explosion. The incredible blast wrecked the naval base and heavily damaged the small town of Port Chicago, located 1.5 miles away. Some 320 American naval personnel were killed instantly. The two ships and the large loading pier were totally annihilated.

Several hundred people were injured, and millions of dollars in property damage was caused by the huge blast. Windows were shattered in towns 20 miles away, and the glare of the explosion could be seen in San Francisco, some 35 miles away. It was the worst home-front disaster of World War II.

Officially, the world’s first atomic test explosion occurred on 16th July 1945 at Alamogordo, New Mexico; but the Port Chicago blast may well have been the world’s first atomic detonation, whether accidental or not.”

As there have been many skeptics that have tried to debunk the notion of an atomic blast it is well-documented that the effects of the explosion were apparently of interest to the Manhattan Project, and their people arrived within days to study the effects of such a large explosion.

This brings up a very scary question: Would the US test or detonate a low-grade nuke on their own people for the sake of global military supremacy?

While there have been numerous arguments against a nuclear explosion at Port Chicago, many of the areas near where the accident happened are still restricted. If it was a mere ordnance accident why are areas still shut down?

Buildings in the area were damaged extensively; structural damage was proven up to 13 miles away.

Suval Railway Station in California, located nearly 40 miles away, was damaged when a plate glass window shattered.

In Petaluma, California some 48 miles away plaster damage was reported and was blamed on the blast.

“A pilot flying at 9,000 feet saw pieces of white-hot metal rise above his altitude.“

Even our own military reports that, “Of the 320 men killed in the explosion, 202 were the African-American enlisted men who were assigned the dangerous duty of loading the ships. The explosion at Port Chicago accounted for fifteen percent of all African-American casualties of World War II… The ordnance loaders were a black unit. Hundreds of the survivors refused to return to work after the accident without safety changes. A couple hundred were summarily court-martialed, and 50 more were tried for mutiny…with a possible death sentence.”

So there was five thousand tons of ammunition being loaded by black sailors on to ships and it all exploded sending a blast more than 12,000 feet into the sky. Bodies of the men were found on Rose Island nearly a mile away. Other material sent there by the explosion were dock holdings and box cars that were twisted and thrown into a heap.

David Caul and Susan Todd’s article, ‘Port Chicago… Was It An Atomic Blast?’, says, “The explosion…vaporized the Liberty Ship E. A. Bryan and blew to bits all but a small section of the keel of the other ship, the Quinault Victory…

The official theory of the explosion maintains that 1.5 kilotons of war munitions containing TNT and Torpex, placed on the pier and in the holds of the Liberty ship E.A. Bryan, were accidentally detonated all at once…”

The other theory is that the first conceptual low-yield nuke was tested that day without the relating radioactive fallout.

Again, from David Caul and Susan Todd’s article, ‘Port Chicago… Was It An Atomic Blast?’: “The first concept of an atomic bomb was that it would be necessary to place it on a naval vessel and send it into the port of the enemy. No strategic aircraft or airfield was available at the time the atomic bomb was developed that could be used for its delivery. At the time of the Port Chicago explosion the United States involvement in the Pacific war was largely focused on maritime battles and the need for a “port buster” was of the highest importance. Scientists at Los Alamos had an exquisite interest in determining the lethal or sinking ranges of all types of surface vessels and submerged submarines for nuclear bombs detonated under water.”

The technology that could drop a heavy atomic bomb from 30,000 feet was not available in the summer of 1944. The result of the explosion was most definitely recorded by scientists of the Manhattan Project for reasons that are now classified.

“The height of the fireball, the Wilson condensation ring, and the damage to 14 counties of California, all point to something more insidious than incompetence,” reported David Caul and Susan Todd.

Can anyone imagine 1.5 kilotons of ammunition to go off all at once and the flash so bright that many people say it was like the sun came out?

One of the biggest questions asked by debunkers of the ‘nuclear test theory’ is: “Why is it that that there was no detectable fallout from a fission bomb?”

Well, there are a few simple explanations.

The most simplistic explanation is that the bomb was located in the hold of a ship. The ship was in shallow water and the atmospheric conditions which at the time were low humidity would mitigate the immediate radiological effects and any long term effects to humans.

If the conspiracy theories are correct, then the Port Chicago case is one of the most guarded secrets in American history. It is one of those incidents that gets no real ink in history books and there are so many ways to debunk it and claim that the reason it is even considered as a possible conspiracy is because of all of the black sailors that were killed. Which means that an event can be dismissed and ridiculed because of outstanding reasons and agendas that a government would love to keep a lid on.

This type of ridicule can also prevent any serious inquiry about an incident and with a great amount of propaganda a case can be dismissed as unfounded even though it is obvious that there is something being hidden and that there is documentation that something or some event has transpired.

History can be erased and towns like Port Chicago can be erased and replaced with a military presence that can keep any truth seekers away. Concord Naval Base is believed to also have missile silos that house some of America’s nuclear arsenal.

There is something that is worse than an unfounded conspiracy theory – and that is a conspiracy of silence.
