Were These Dogs Killed by Bigfoot?
“But that wasn’t the first time the Yoakam family had experienced an encounter with the beast. In 1952 one of their children and a friend were hunting, when the same blood curling sound suddenly erupted. Their dog tried to catch the animal, but by the time the boys had reached the spot of the incident, the canine was laying dead with a broken neck.
Other deaths soon followed and the community weren’t able to figure out who the culprit was, prompting authorities to organize hunting parties that soon turned out to be unsuccessful.
What was this mysterious animal capable of producing such sounds and strong enough to break a dog’s back? A mountain lion? A bear perhaps? Racoons are known for the peculiar sounds they emit at night, and although they are equipped with the necessary tools to defend themselves from unnecessary dog attacks –specially when they are in groups–, this doesn’t explain the acute trauma applied on the canine’s back. Were these primate vocalizations similar to those reported in Bigfoot encounters?”
