SPECIAL NOTE: Deanna and I saw a man with orange hair, orange pants, orange shirt, orange socks and shoes, we call him The Orange Man. Yes, people are strange. We also saw a woman, dressed all in black, wearing sunglasses late at night, could she be one of Santa Cruz’s vampires?

The Lost Boys was filmed in Santa Cruz and after this movie was made, it became a haven for wannabe vampires. Besides the wannabe vampires, Santa Cruz is also known for it’s extreme paranormal activity found below the ocean waves and in the mountains.

There have been a multitude of reports of USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects) popping out of the ocean and into the skies. Could there possibly be a UFO base in the Monterey Bay? There have been reports of ghostly activity in the thick forested mountains of Santa Cruz. There are reports of Bigfoot being seen in the woods and the sounds of Bigfoot screaming or knocking on wood to communicate with other Bigfoot. It also seems that Bigfoot is connected to UFO activity. Wherever there are UFOs, Bigfoot is not too far behind, which causes me to think that Bigfoot may be an interdimensional creature or possibly an extraterrestrial.

There are people who claim that when walking in various areas of Santa Cruz, they feel they have walked into a vortex. Everything becomes surreal. Daniel Webber of San Jose says that he was preparing to hike through the woods of Santa Cruz and came upon a green mist, when he entered the green mist the trees were different. He could see what appeared to be an Indian man running with a spear through the woods. The green mist appeared again and he was back at his campsite.

Mystery Spot:
The Mystery Spot, located off of Branciforte Drive near Santa Cruz, is a small area of forested terrain, where gravitational forces, and other physical laws, appear to be oddly distorted. When I first visited the Mystery Spot, I was amazed at the gravitational hijinks that were played out in front of me. Here is one report I received about the Mystery Spot, see here:

Here are the words from one visitor of the Mystery Spot:

“One enters the attraction with a tour guide, and treks up a small hill–which feels significantly steeper than it appears–to a crocked wooden cabin, that’s been resting on the slanted ledge of the hill there since 1940.

The tour guide performs a series of demonstrations around and throughout the cabin, which supposedly show phenomena that defy the laws of physics.

Tennis balls seem to roll uphill, and people seem to shrink and grow in height as they switch positions on a wooden plank.

People look oddly slanted at the Mystery Spot, like everyone is standing at a tilted angle that’s leaning sideways, and it appears that people can bend over into impossible positions.

Trees grow leaning clockwise into the center of the Mystery Spot, and birds avoid the area. Compasses don’t operate properly.

Most eerily, one simply feels different there. It feels like one is standing at an angle, and if one pours water out of a cup, it will pour down at an angle.”

SPECIAL NOTE: This is not paranormal, but if you love animals, you will love this little story. While Deanna was standing on a cliff looking out into the ocean, she saw a cute little seal bopping his head in the water. She called out to him. When she called out to the seal, he actually stopped and stared at her. Yes, they had a ‘connection’. Finally the seal, that Deanna now affectionately calls the Prince of the California Mist swam away towards the Boardwalk.

MORE HAUNTED STORIES FROM SANTA CRUZ!
Santa Cruz is a hotbed of paranormal activity. Of all things, UC Santa Cruz – Porter College is haunted. A student committed suicide and his apparition has been seen many times. Witnesses say that these sightings usually occur in the A Building. Ghost Identified: Suicide Boy. If you want to see objects flying around and you want to hear some strange odd sounds, then check out B Building’s 1st Floor. Students say that they feel something evil around. They at times feel they are being watched by some kind of negative force. Marion Santos says that the students call this entity The Dark One. At B Building’s 3rd Floor, students that have snoozed off to never-never land, only to be awakened to what feels like two hands around their throats. Joan Cisna says that she felt like she was being strangled and could see the outline of two black gloves around her neck. I will call this ghost: Black Gloves. Black Gloves is an appropriate name for a ghost that has a craving for strangling students while they are napping. In the Meadow, the apparition of a transient woman named Lily has been seen naked or wearing rags. So, if you are traveling to Santa Cruz, make sure to stop by UC Santa Cruz and visit their infamous specters. UC Santa Cruz infamous specters are: The Dark One; Suicide Boy; Black Gloves and Lily.

Around 1900, rumor has it that a murder occurred in the area of Adolph’s Restaurant – Fuji Restaurant. Because of this tragic event, patrons and workers have seen several apparitions lurking around. They are referred to as Adolph’s Restaurant Specters. After you dine at Adolph’s Restaurant, make sure to visit Graham Hill Road Cemetery – Santa Cruz Memorial Cemetery. There are many stories of ghostly activity at this cemetery. People have claimed to have seen faces appearing on the tombstones. Dark shadows have been seen darting around. Lots of orbs. A ghostly monkey like creature has been seen in the trees. This ghost is called: The Lurking Monkey. Another ghost is called ‘The White Figure’, it has been known to go after visitors and it will either push you, slap you, hit you or even touch you with a hot burning sensation. When you see The White Figure……RUN!! About 4.1 miles from Santa Cruz, stop by Capitola, California to see the haunted Rispin Mansion. It was built in 1922 by a real-estate baron. It has been left to ruin via fire and graffiti. In this paragraph section, ghosts identified are: Adolph’s Restaurant Specters; The Lurking Monkey and The White Figure.

SANTA CRUZ BOARDWALK:
I don’t know if the Santa Cruz Boardwalk is haunted, but I do know that three men known for visiting haunted houses and hunting down ghosts all over the country stopped by the Boardwalk to film a few scenes for an upcoming episode of “Ghost Adventures.”

Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin had a lot of fun with their fans while a film crew followed them around. Bagans went to school with “Lost Boys” star Corey Haim, who died in 2010 at age 38. Some of the scenes of the Boardwalk that will be in Ghost Adventures was also in the movie Lost Boys.

LIGHTHOUSE FIELD STATE BEACH:
Talked with one of the caretakers and he told me that he has never witnessed anything paranormal, but visitors have. One story is that a woman saw ghostly apparitions of a old man with a dog walking up the stairs. Deanna, Samra (Independent Ghost Hunter of Santa Clara Specter Seekers) and I visited this lighthouse, but made no observations of anything paranormal. Another note, Mark Abbott – watch keeper of the lighthouse died at the age of 18 in the open sea. They say that Mark Abbott also haunts the lighthouse.

The Haunting of Mission Santa Cruz, Mexico, 1708 to 1876
Mission Santa Cruz is very haunted. I suggest that you purchase the book: The Haunting of Mission Santa Cruz. This book is about Mission Santa Cruz when it was Mexico, and the California land grabs of Mission Santa Cruz, Villa de Branciforte and Rancho San Andres that took place more than 30 years after the end of the 1848 Mexican-American War. The murder of the Castro heirs to the more than 9,900 acres of ocean-front land, and the dismantling of the famous 160 room luxury hotel called, “The Magnolia Rose” has created a series of haunting. The Mexican-Spanish Anzarins “Guardians of the Vase” were murdered so abruptly that they travel between the relocated pieces of their once great “Victorian” mansions of Mission Santa Cruz Alta California.

SPECIAL NOTE: Samra treated us to two dinners, one dinner at Kiani’s Pizza and Pasta Bar – I had the buffalo wing sandwich, pasta salad, Coke, Deanna had some kind of vegetarian pasta dish, we sat outside, it was so nice and relaxing. The other dinner that Samra treated us to, was at the Santa Cruz Diner, I had pancakes, ham and cheese omelet, coffee, fried potatoes and Deanna had onion rings. Thank you Samra! Every morning, I got our coffee at Fins Coffee – 1104 Ocean Street, Santa Cruz.

ONE MORE SPECIAL NOTE IN DEANNA’S OWN WORDS:
We went across from our hotel to a small music store. They were selling vintage acoustic guitars. They had brands like Taylor and Epiphone. No guitar was over two hundred dollars and I played five different guitars in the store.

Tuesday, July 8, 2014 – Day 1
It is 11 am and my travel roommate and I are on our bus “A Touch Of Class” heading to the Orlando Airport. We will be boarding US Airways from Orlando to Philadelphia. From there we will be flying from Philadelphia to Tel Aviv, Israel. It took is 2 ½ hours to fly to Philadelphia from Orlando. We have a 3 hour layover due to rain. It will be an 11 hour flight to Israel, so I might as well relax and take a long nap!
Met a nice gentleman who is from Fresno, California…small world! That’s where I was born! He’s heading to Israel to visit his family for 40 days. He’s Palestinian. His Uncle is sitting right behind him with his daughter. Very nice people. There’s a woman in front of me that is Jewish and he is talking to the guy from Fresno about what he thought about what’s going on in Israel. It’s a heated discussion! I think she might be a reporter because she’s asking a lot of questions like a reporter would ask.

My roommate is getting agitated with the conversation. She said she wishes the woman would shut up. That’s not very nice, everyone has an opinion. I hope she’s not going to be a hard person to get along with on the trip. Originally, I was suppose to go with my dentist and friend Dr. Q. She had to back out at the last minute sure to other obligations with her family. That bummed be out. So my pastor found me a roommate, she’s a new church member and I don’t know her at all. She seemed alright when I went to lunch with her to get to know her. But she’s constantly correcting me on how to speak a certain way and it’s getting on my nerves…she is a retired school teacher…no wonder!
The conversation is heating up about the two groups Hamas and Israel. Very interesting to listen to the conversation. It seems that the Palestinian family is making more sense than the Jewish woman, she constantly wants to start an argument! They asked me my opinion, I said I’m biase. There really isn’t any right or wrong. I said we all should live in peace no matter what religion you are and left it at that.
Lots of turbulence going on. It’s a quarter to twelve. One Jewish man is rocking back and forth praying. He’s wearing a black suit and a felt hat and long braids on the sides. I think he’s an Orthodox Jew. He’s been praying for 15 minutes.
Arrived in Israel and the time is 2pm Israel time and 7 am Florida time. What a long flight! We’re being met by our Tour Guide Mike from EO Tours (Educational Opportunity Tours) to take us to our Hotel in Bethlehem. It’s about an hour bus ride. I think I’ll take a snooze on the bus.
It’s actually Wednesday, July 9, 2014 – Day 2 in Israel which is one day ahead of the United States.
