POLICE OFFICER SPOTS A V-SHAPED OBJECT OVER NEW YORK

Lt. Kevin Soravilla of the Yorktown Police Department, the truth is out there. More than 31 years ago, Soravilla and others saw an unidentified flying object in the sky.  Soravilla was working patrol on Route 118 in Yorktown near the Triangle Shopping Center when he saw a large object heading southbound flying less than 1,000 feet above the shopping center.  “I thought it was flying very low,” Soravilla sad. “It was a V-shaped object and there was green, red and amber banked across the object in the sky.”Soravilla stared, transfixed at the object and noticed it heading west to Peekskill and then flying over Putnam Valley. He contacted airports but they detecting nothing on their radar.  “What was it? I have no clue,” Soravilla said.  Mike Samuels, who works for the Yorktown Highway Department, saw the same thing that night. While the two were at the Yorktown Police Department, they saw the object fly directly overhead.  Both said the object was 100 feet in width and made no noise. It was lit in red, green and amber.  “It passed me and then headed south to Croton,” Soravilla said. “I lost sight of it.”   Since that night, Soravilla has been trying to figure out what exactly it was, reading books and googling, but with no luck. The incident was profiled on an episode of “Unsolved Mysteries,” where eyewitnesses from Brewster to Chappaqua claimed to see something in the sky.  “I was very curious,” Soravilla said it. “It made me apprehensive. There’s no logical explanation for what that was.” After the “Unsolved Mysteries” appearance, Soravilla got calls from people who said they saw something similar. “I’m not saying there were little green men piloting the thing,” Soravilla said. “I just can’t explain what it was.” Seeing the UFO fly overhead was “eerie,” Samuels said.   It was dead silence,” Samuels said. “You couldn’t hear anything. It was too silent to be ultralights. Every light was perfect. It was intense.”  Samuels said he doesn’t think we’re alone in the universe.  “To assume we’re the only planet with inhabitants is pretty arrogant,” Samuels said.  NOTE: The above image is a rendering.
