Strange Creature Caught on Trail Cam Near Colfax, CA
What is this? A camel’s neck? A spider? If you guessed camel, there are no wild camels in California! According to Rural Mysteries, they’ve been trying to figure out what walked passed their game cam last January:
We still haven’t identified this tall, upright mystery creature. The photo was taken with a Meadow Vista critter-cam in January 2014.

Liars…the camera was laid on the ground looking straight up. That is a deer or elk neck and shoulder, ventral view.

Deer me! What the elk is that?
The color and the texture of the fur/hair isn’t right for deer or elk. Maybe one of those European red deer….I just don’t know. I tanned sever hundred deer, elk, moose, goat, sheep, cats, coyote/fox……but the texture of the hide has me stumped. But…I have seen than pelt somewhere…..maybe one of those South American lamma looking things?
