Sunday Go to Meeting Bun!

Politics, Prophecy & the Supernatural Sunday Bun

And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. Mark 8:29
He came unto his own, and his own received him not. John 1:11
I love this scene where Jesus asks Peter But whom say ye that I am and Peter replies, you are the Messiah—the anointed one! Peter at this point had been “hanging out” with the God-man Yashua/Jesus and under the direction of the Father and the Spirit of the Living God, had the realization that indeed he was the Messiah! Remember, Jesus looks like a man. He is eating and walking with his disciples. He lays down at night and sleeps with them too. Yet, he is able to perform feats/miracles that have never been equaled before or after his time on earth. Think about it, changing water to wine, walking on the water, healing the multitudes of every disease imaginable, raising people from the dead and casting out demons. Wherever He goes He is destroying the works of The Fallen One, who comes to rob, kill and destroy! We have the written record of what happened and even though it was almost 2000 years ago theses stories make us marvel and wonder and as for me, wish that I could go back and time and spend one day with Him!
Then we come to the second verse in todays Bun. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. John 1:11 It is a poignant reminder of His rejection by “his own,” His creation, mankind. They don’t recognize Him and in fact, for the most part, utterly reject Him, and in some cases declare He is demon possessed. Isaiah tells us in Chapter 53: He was a man of sorrows, which is a prophecy about who Messiah would be that I believe was fulfilled in the person of Yashua/Jesus.
I can only imagine how alone He must have felt, especially in Gethsemane, when all of His disciples were unable to stay awake and pray with Him. He even hints at this when he states: And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have
nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” Matthew 8:20
In closing todays Bun. As Christians we have come to accept the stories we have heard and read and are written in our Bibles. These stories tell us about the person of Jesus. They give us a window and a testimony that travels back in time almost 2000 years ago. Everywhere Jesus walks, every person he makes contact with, experiences God with us—Emmanuel!
Do you know Him? Is he real to you? Has He spoken to you in the night seasons? He is more real than the words you are reading right now. He stands at the door of your heart and knocks. If you open it He will come in and your life will never be the same. He is the Prince of Peace. He is the One you have been waiting for. He is the Great I Am, the First and the Last, the Alpha and the Omega. He is the God/man Yashua…. Jesus. To know Him is only a request away!
