Astronauts Admit To Encountering UFOs For The Past 50 Years

Being the advocate of a topic without having hard evidence is difficult. For the purpose of this article, let’s assume UFOs are real, although the vastness and age of the universe should be enough to safely infer that there are advanced beings out there and they’re capable of many feats we can’t even begin to imagine.

Let’s say that you’re the protagonist of a close encounter. You’re driving down a lone stretch of highway in the dead of night when you notice your car is making a strange whizzing sound.  You slow down but the noise gets louder. Eventually your engine stalls and when you get out you finally notice it, hovering not twenty feet above your car. You rub your eyes in disbelief but it’s still there, humming, this behemoth of a unidentified flying object. You get a good glimpse of its unusual rounded shape, notice no propellers or jet exhausts and although you weren’t big on this whole deal about aliens and flying saucers you realize they were true all along.

A few moments later, the craft accelerates to a phenomenal speed unlike anything you’ve ever seen before and it’s gone. You take a look at your watch and figure out that the whole business lasted no more than a couple minutes. Good thing you weren’t abducted though. You get back in your car and then it hits you. You’ve just seen a UFO. You’re not drunk. You’re not high. You’re not on psychedelic drugs. You know what you saw and you understand the laws of physics enough to assume that whatever it is that you saw wasn’t from Earth. Overcoming your initial shock, you decide to notify the proper authorities. What do you think their response is going to be?

It would probably be something along the lines of “you saw an aircraft flying low” or a goddamn “weather balloon” or “the reflection of a passing vehicle in your windshield” or “the beam from a lighthouse” or any other defying explanation that would be an insult even to the intelligence of a 7-year old. They would tell you that you have no idea of what a spacecraft looks like since you’re a computer systems analyst. You’re not an expert in aeronautics, so go sleep it off! And keep it to yourself!

We could speculate about their reasons for cover-ups and denial all day long but that would just be a waste of time for both of us. They dismiss any witness account due to their lack of credentials or experience in the field of otherworldly vehicles. Don’t feel offended, they do this to seasoned military personnel as well. But there is a category of men and women they couldn’t possibly discredit: astronauts. They have to be familiar with flying objects, since that’s right up their alley, figuratively speaking.

So what can we do then with all their accounts of flying saucers? After all, they come from a trustworthy source, don’t they?

Astronaut L. Gordon Cooper and the historic launch of Faith 7.

Let’s start with Col. Gordon Cooper. During his career he held the positions of aerospace engineer, test pilot, USAF pilot and one of the first seven astronauts in the first manned space program of the United States, Project Mercury. His first encounter of UFOs was while piloting an F-86 Sabrejet over Western Germany in 1951. He described them as metallic saucer-shaped discs flying at high altitude and capable of out-maneuvering any American fighter planes. On May 15, 1963 he set on a 22 orbit journey around the Earth in a Mercury capsule. On his final orbit, he told ground control in Muchea, Australia that a glowing greenish object was quickly approaching him. The object’s presence was confirmed by Muchea’s tracking radar. The NBC was covering the event live but reporters were not permitted to question Cooper upon his return. He has since denied this event. We can guess why.

In 1978 he addressed a UN committee, stating: “I believe that these extra-terrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets… Most astronauts were reluctant to discuss UFOs.” He also stated that radar instruments pick up UFOs on a daily basis and there are thousands of witness reports kept secret in order to protect the masses.

During their second orbit in December 1965, Gemini astronauts James Lovell and Frank Borman spotted an unidentified spacecraft. Gemini Control in Cape Kennedy told them that they were looking at their own booster rocket. Lovell replied that he could see the booster but there was something else as well. In June that same year, astronauts Ed White and James McDivitt had seen a weird metallic object while passing over Hawaii in their Gemini capsule. McDivitt took pictures of the object but they were never released.

Soviet cosmonauts Yevgeni Khrunov, Valery Ryumin, Leonid Popov and Pavel Popovich all had similar stories to tell. Another interesting incident was witnessed by Vladimir Kovalenko  aboard the Salyut-6 space station on May 5, 1981. He described an elongated melon-shaped object of unknown origins. According to his report, the object behaved like nothing he had seen before, contorting, expanding and pulsating in a manner that defied physics.

And the quasi-cherry on top is the unconfirmed report from the first man to walk on the Moon, Neil Armstrong. Shortly after their historic landing on July 21, 1969 Neil Armstrong and “Buzz” Aldrin reported seeing lights in a crater. The transmission was televised but when mission control required details all they heard was silence. Their communications continued uninterrupted but without broadcasting them to the general public. However, ham radio enthusiasts with their own VHF receivers were eavesdropping. This is what they heard: “These babies are huge, Sir! Enormous! Oh my God! You wouldn’t believe it! I’m telling you there are other spacecraft out there, lined up on the far side of the crater edge! They’re on the Moon watching us!”

Before dismissing this as fake, consider that former Chief of NASA Communications Systems Maurice Chatelain confirmed Armstrong’s report. He said the encounter was common knowledge at NASA. Soviet scientists also support the existence of an alien moonbase. Some have went as far as saying that the reason manned missions are no longer sent to the Moon is that we’ve been specifically warned not to. But that’s fodder for another article.

In conclusion, we either have a diverse fleet of UFOs in our immediate vicinity or most of our astronauts are liars. Personally, I trust astronauts.

Believe what you will.
