Bulletin Between The Eyes

Back in January my crew and I attended the WizardWorld ComicCon. While we were there we saw all kinds of great comic book booths from independent artists to world famous artists whose graphic novels have kindled the imagination of every one.

When I had a moment I left my booth to go into the comic con to see if there were any cool comics that I could purchase. As I walked along Liam, my fiancé’s young son picked up and Archies comic that featured KISS and said here is cool comic you might like.

I was surprised that the Archie comic series was still around. That fact that they were featuring Jughead, Betty, Veronica. Reggie and Archie, going to a KISS concert made me feel very old. It was the Archie meets KISS series and a clever title Riverdale Rock City.

The only problem is I wasn’t sure if Archie would admit that he and his band “The Archies” would tell KISS that while they are considered the most popular American band in history, “The Archies” have charted higher with their number 1 song “Sugar, Sugar.”

I thought that would be some irony that Archie could kind of brag about that bubble gum song.

While I was at the booth another Archie cover caught my eye. I was a lot heavier handed as it showed Betty and Veronica bending over a dead Archie Andrews. Archie had been shot, and he was very much dead.

I guess there is an Archie comic in a parallel world where he is an adult and politically active. The comic called Life with Archie featured in their final print the death of Archie Andrews.

Archie dies trying to save his openly gay friend Kevin Keller — who’s married a military veteran, U.S. Senator and gun control supporter — from an assassination attempt by a stalker.

Jon Goldwater, publisher and co-CEO of Archie Comics and son to Archie’s creator John Goldwater, says this series was developed because older readers liked the stories that went beyond between Team Betty and Team Veronica.

It was like a cudgel that a childhood cartoon character had to lay down some very liberal undertones in order to get me to pick up the comic that I had no idea still existed.

A gun wielding stalker tries to kill a gay U.S. Senator who supports gun control. Of course the Senator’s husband was involved in a hate crime shooting.

I guess in this world today nothing is sacred or off limits, especially when immortal characters have to face political and sometimes heavy handed stories in order to make a statement.

In an apocalypse culture it is interesting to see how people react when they find others that don’t agree with them. Sometimes they stealthily seek out to destroy them and with all of the power they have they will bring them down into nothing.

We have all been subjected to the race debate and how it seems to command the attention of the people and how the people have suggested everything from a war on cops to burning down cities to send a message.

The question is what message is being sent, and what is it the outcome of all this. Most everyone that have a side on these issues are being coerced by the mainstream media feeding us issues that will drive you crazy.

Mix it all up with apocalyptic thinking and you will start hearing about outrageous proposals that will eliminate the perceived evil that surrounds us, anything from botched exorcisms to black masses being performed in public.

Horrified tourists have told of their shock and disgust after attending a devil-worshipping “Black Mass” in Mexico.

They looked on as chicken and goats were sacrificed before their fresh blood was poured over participants who had pledged their souls to Satan.

At the twisted cult’s annual “Black Mass” in the Mexican state of Veracruz, people from across the world to seek change in their lives by taking part in devil worship.

Worshipers indulge in brutal animal sacrifice, dance before burning pentagrams and disappear into a subterranean cave where solemn oaths are sworn before a large statue of the devil and a committee of shamans.

The lakeside town of Catemaco on Mexico’s Gulf Coast is a destination for many ‘pilgrims’ who come in search of spiritual experiences.

Enrique Vernon organizes the annual mass at his ceremonial grounds on White Monkey Mountain to the west of the town. He claims that the black magic he uses stems from Native American Olmeca culture, and he is an expert in calling upon the devil and his dark power.

According to the organizers, People come to the devil-summoning ceremonies when they want to achieve change in their lives’, as they dance around the skeletal Death Saints, wear pentagrams and pelts of exotic animals.

Some come to ask Satan to give them success in the future; others come to get over their difficult pasts.

In Oklahoma City a black mass was conducted in private by the Dakhma of Ahriman Angra Mayu. The city tried to stop the group from doing their Black Mass and the Catholic church wanted to sue because the Satanists planned to desecrate the holy host.

The Satanic Temple who organized the event backed off, and have been still they chief proponent of having a Baphomet statue on state grounds.

In January of 2014, the Satanic Temple of New York unveiled their design for a seven-foot-tall depiction of the Baphomet, an image of Satan that they wanted to see placed near the Ten Commandments monument at the Oklahoma state capitol. The debate has been raging all year long between the satanic leaders and Christian leaders about freedom of religion and the separation between church and state. The Baphomet statue has now become a pain in the side for Oklahoma law makers and is now challenging the First Amendment.

In 2012, Rep. Mike Ritze paid for the installation of a Ten Commandments monument at the Oklahoma state capitol building’s front lawn.

Since he paid for the Commandments himself, it was classified as a donation and was allowed to be placed on government property.

However, the Satanic Temple says if the Ten Commandments are placed on government property, a symbol of their religion should also have a place on the lawn.

The Satanic Temple proposed placing a statue of the goat-headed Baphomet, next to the Ten Commandments.

The extremism that is now being seen in the world is spreading. The ultimate picture of extremism has been demonstrated by the media as the terrorist group ISIS. ISIS has been allowed to show their hatred for Christians and what they call defiled Muslims who have seen their monuments destroyed but have also died in violent ways along with their Christian counterparts.

In the United States we are seeing many forms of extremist attitudes with regard to race and sexual orientation. In the political arena the parties are no longer competing for votes, they are committing acts of sabotage and black mail in order to continue various character assassinations, and blacklisting.

We are told that terrorist acts and extremist activities are committed by individuals acting alone, under the influence of extremist propaganda they accessed on the Internet. It is too soon to tell whether this is a statistical blip or the beginning of a new and dangerous trend.

However it can be argued that most of the extremism can be found in Washington and the various lawmakers that present bills and make laws that are extremist and unconstitutional.

Matthew Gregory McLaughlin, an Orange County attorney, filed a statewide ballot initiative that would allow gays and lesbians to be “put to death by bullets to the head.” His proposal would allow for the execution of what he calls sodomites. McLaughlin filed the so-called Sodomite Suppression Act on Feb. 24, 2015 with the state’s Office of the Attorney General.

McLaughlin’s proposed law would also ban gays — whom he refers to as “sodomites” from holding public office.

Under his proposed law, people found guilty of spreading “sodomite propaganda” would be fined $1 million or see jail time.

But the state Legislature’s LGBT Caucus is asking the State Bar to review McLaughlin, who is listed as active and permitted to practice in California. They believe he’s violating the State Bar’s requirement that attorneys act in “good moral character.”

McLaughlin, faces an uphill task to actually see his proposal on a statewide ballot. The initiative must gather the number of signatures equal to 5 percent of those who voted in the last election for governor or about 366,000 valid names.

McLaughlin, who is listed as active and permitted to practice in California, should face disbarment. So far this has not been brought up, not even by the LGBT community.

Meanwhile Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz made an explicit appeal to Christian conservatives as he became the first major figure to jump into the 2016 U.S. presidential race.

Speaking at Liberty University, a Christian school founded by televangelist Jerry Falwell, Cruz called for the support of religious conservatives who play a major role in states with early nominating contests. He discussed his Baptist faith in personal terms and urged religious conservatives who have sat out recent elections to get off the sidelines.

I am sure however that Cruz would want to avoid talking about his father who shares similar extremist views with Matt McLaughlin. Back in 2013 Rafael Cruz the Father of Ted Cruz was been very candid about his evangelical extremism during an Interview that he had with his son.

Cruz’s Father claims that Atheism and Secular humanism are responsible for the ills of this world. He claimed that the belief systems are two of the main ills facing our society, that they lead to sexual perversion, sexual abuse, and the complete loss of hope.

In the past, Cruz, an evangelical preacher and avowed creationist, has claimed that God endorses the death penalty, that evolution is a communist trick aimed at converting people to atheism, that legalizing gay marriage will lead to preachers being arrested for hate speech just for reading the Bible, and that President Obama is a tyrant who needs to go back to Kenya.

Hearing about what ISIS does, and watching what they have done, I can see that the hateful and extremist things they do are in league with what both McLaughlin and Rafael Cruz have espoused. Shooting a gay person between the eyes, two or three times if needed is no different than ISIS beheading Christians, or burning children in cages.

The Satanists have set fire to pentagrams, sacrificed animals, and danced around like maniacs. They have proposed and petitioned to have Baphomet on state property — pretty harmless compared to what is being suggested by men who should know better.

How weird is it that what we expect from a satanic group, is coming out of the mouths of so called religious extremists that wish to see human beings die just because of their sexual orientation?

We all know about Muslim extremism but do we have any thought of what extremism is when it is being carried out by other people with painfully extreme religious views?

Early in the presidency of George W. Bush, we were told that Islamic terrorists were the enemy. And so most of the country got behind the idea of the War on Terrorism. But over the years that has morphed into a War on Extremism.

Now extremism is at war with extremism.

However the extremism we are at war with will no longer just be about Islam, it is a war against what the elite feel are unenlightened people or people who do not share in the wealth that the elite grantee to spread their unrighteous gospel.

We are steamrolling toward oblivion, and most of the country is dead asleep.
