“We were walking along a trail in the forest when I heard movement,” Matthew told Thomas Marcum, founder of The Crypto Crew, about the 2012 encounter. “It was a dry summer, so the grass was very yellowish brown and probably dead.”
According to Matthew, the encounter didn’t last longer than five seconds, but that was enough time for him to gather physical details of the creature.
“It was all black with what looked like a man with a face like a ant eater,” he said, adding that its face was thick and lacked a visible “mouth or nose”.
The eyewitness also claimed that when he returned to the same spot later that summer, he found what looked like “hoof tracks about 4 inches thick” forming a pattern that suggested they had been printed by “something that walked on two legs”.
