LOL, Les Stroud. I mean, even watching him on his show (the time I tried), I had to laugh. Seriously? This guy is the whiniest ‘survivor’ I’ve ever seen. Every time a ‘story’ comes out on him, it seems, without fail, that it is back-tracked and ‘edited’ before long. Like his ‘honeymoon of a year roughing it in survival mode’ that come to find out, wasn’t quite ‘roughing it’. Bigfoot may (or may not) have been bigfoot. He doesn’t do weapons, but seems to survive just fine without losing weight in the wild (I call BS on this alone, and if you doubt it, try it sometime).
I’ve went through military survival school. I’ve been in combat. I’ve seen ‘bad bush’ and rough terrain. After the Marines, I did a LOT of outdoors (mostly deep country hunting), sometimes for a month or more at a time. I’m here to tell you, this guy would NOT last on an actual ‘survival trek’, and he SURE wouldn’t maintain body weight by eating a couple of well-sourced mushrooms by evening light.
If I don’t trust him being ‘Capt. Kanga-survival-roo’, then what he claims he saw in that ‘bad bush’ was probably just an emotional moose or hungry bear. Then again, we can always HOPE for bigfoot to find him – that way we don’t keep getting Les popping back up on the ‘I’m feeling lonely’ TV screen with a new camera gimmick again. He needs a lifetime membership to ‘Attention Cravers Anonymous’.
