It’s Life… Isn’t It?

IT’S LIFE… ISN’T IT?

Back in 1997, the theory of a holographic universe was first introduced by physicist Juan Maldacena, who theorized that gravity arises from thin, vibrating strings that exist in nine dimensions of space and another of time, whereas real life exists in a universe without gravity. The comparison to the hologram is frequently made because of the way a hologram is created; it’s a three-dimensional image coded onto a two-dimensional surface.

The theory suggests that the universe is built in a similar fashion, the higher dimensional part coded onto a flatter, lower dimensional part. So, on a hologram, only one part is tangible — the lower dimensional surface onto which the hologram is coded. The holographic image, though, merely looks three-dimensional. You can’t, for example, touch it with your fingers. Now, pretend that’s the structure of the universe.

Entertainment media has been exploring this concept for quite a while, with movies like The Matrix and Vanilla Sky becoming so prevalent in modern-day culture. The Men in Black trilogy features short segments — acting as quick, but thought-provoking jokes — that show some universe (ours or another) as being part of a much larger one. The end of the first movie, for instance, shows that our universe is the size of and held within a marble, kept in an alien’s bag with other universe marbles.

If we’re living within a hologram and made to think it’s just our normal universe, there isn’t much of a way we’d know if that’s how it was designed. A disturbing thought, so naturally, some very smart scientists are trying to figure out if we live in the universe as we know it — or not.

New research from scientists at the Vienna University of Technology concludes that the holographic principle is possible in the context of a mostly flat space-time continuum.

The holographic principle, simply put, is the idea that our three-dimensional reality is a projection of information stored on a distant, two-dimensional surface. Like the emblem on your credit card, the two-dimensional surface holds all the information you need to describe a three-dimensional object — in this case, our universe.

The question is if we are a hologram, who is projecting us and why?

If the universe is a hologram we could be able to observe a number of unexpected mysterious glitches in our simulation reality.

After all, we can assume that not even the most sophisticated computer program is free from errors.

If we suspect that we are programmed beings living inside a simulation is there any way for us to find out if this is true?

Scientists would like to know if we really live in matrix and so, they try to test this quite bizarre concept practically. We can say that theoretically this bizarre scenario is possible. An unknown but highly advanced civilization living “somewhere” among the stars recognizes our “technologically advanced computer systems” as very primitive achievement.

These beings — having all possible technological achievements we can only imagine – want to have some fun and decide to play God.

For example, Rich Terrell, from the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology has suggested that God is in fact a cosmic computer programmer.

Such advanced aliens can bring to life the universe as a simulation on a cosmic scale, with galaxies, planets and billions of stars.

Inside this so-called universe they place us, humans and give us simulated life we consider as reality.

They watch us, take notes and play us back and forth past and present to detect any and all flaws, or to eliminate any and all paradox problems.

According to a recently theory proposed by Robert Lanza, author of Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness are the Keys to Understanding the True Nature of the Universe death might not even be real!

We might think that we are an advanced species, but we possess limited knowledge of the world around us.

We are moved by moved by neurophysiological signals and subject to a variety of biological, psychological and sociological influences over which we have limited control and little understanding.

Physicist Alain Aspect conducted a most remarkable experiment demonstrating that the web of subatomic particles that composes our physical universe – the so-called “fabric of reality itself” — possesses what appears to be an undeniable “holographic” property.

We assume that technologically mature civilizations

Would have access to enormous amounts of computing power.

So enormous, in fact, that by devoting even a tiny fraction to ancestor simulations, they would be able to implement billions of simulations, each containing as many people as have ever existed. In other words, almost all minds like yours would be simulated.

Therefore, by a very weak principle of indifference, you would have to assume that you are probably one of these simulated minds rather than one of the ones that are not simulated

Maybe this is the reason why when you boil things down to basics we as humans respond to images, numeric patterns and all language is frequency and numbers.

Science is imperfect because people are imperfect — it has always been, and so it will always be. Man’s greatest paradox is the attempt by too many to interchange Magic or for the religious “God” and science replacing one with the other — when, in reality, one should lead to the other if the path is kept clear of prejudices.

With an honest pursuit of ultimate knowledge, humanity would not be facing such a cataclysm of moral and ethical problems involving science. But honesty and morality have been cast aside to embrace a substitute for “knowledge.”

We are waking up to the fact that the paranormal, and beliefs in paranormal events is the new normal.

As I have reported before when quoting Robert Anton Wilson, we have created this safety net we call reality and every once in a while we are reminded that a very real existential world exists and that the spooky actions we see are all part of some quantum theory that is not easily explained.

There have been many occasions where we have been told that the universe we live in is a construct, a safe haven that we have developed to hide away from the various demons and bogey man that plague our nightmares.

I am no scientist or theologian, I have dabbled in the occult and studied all of the strangeness and peculiarities of this world and with my Fortean goggles I see the world as a playground of fascinating coincidences.

I want to make this fact clear, a fact that cannot be escaped even if you are an atheist or agnostic or otherwise. There is a shared meme held by billions of people on this planet and that is the world is destined to end in some chaos.

Quantum physics gives us a new way to look at our world. If we see an object, it is because the object pops into view, if it leaves our view quickly we question if what we see was just a hallucination or if it is real and pops out of sight and out of mind.

Quantum reality gives us the ability to even question if what we saw was out of the ordinary, or plucked from another matrix to occupy this construct.

What is seen in our view is known as the field, some call it the grid.

Once you take seriously that all possible universes can (or do) exist then a slippery slope opens up before you. It has long been recognized that technical alien civilizations, only a little more advanced than ourselves, will have the capability to simulate universes in which self-conscious entities can emerge and communicate with one another.

They would have computer power that differed from ours by a vast factor. Instead of merely simulating their weather or the formation of galaxies, like we do, they would be able to go further and watch the appearance of stars and planetary systems.

Then, having coupled the rules of biochemistry into their astronomical simulations they would be able to watch the evolution of life and consciousness (all sped up to occur on whatever timescale was convenient for them). Just as we watch the life cycles of fruit flies they would be able to follow the evolution of life, watch civilizations grow and communicate with each other, argue about whether there existed a Great Programmer in the Sky who created their Universe and who could intervene at will in defiance of the laws of Nature they habitually observed.

We see that once conscious observers are allowed to intervene in the universe, rather than being merely lumped into the category of ‘observers’ who do nothing, that we end up with a scenario in which the gods reappear in unlimited numbers in the guise of the simulators who have power of life and death over the simulated realities that they bring into being. The alien simulators determine the laws, and can change the laws, that govern their worlds.

They can engineer anthropic fine-tunings.
This may explain the various reports of alien abduction cases that we have been covering at the McMinnville UFO Festival.

Widespread publicity was generated by the Betty and Barney Hill abduction case of 1961 (again not widely known until several years afterwards), culminating in a made for television film broadcast in 1975 starring James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons dramatizing the events. The Hill incident was probably the prototypical abduction case, and was perhaps the first where:

The beings that later became widely known as the Grays appeared (who also went on to become the most common type of extraterrestrial in abduction reports). The beings explicitly identified an extraterrestrial origin (the star Zeta Reticuli was later suspected as their point of origin).

Neither the contactees nor these early abduction accounts, however, saw much attention from ufology, then still largely reluctant to consider close encounters of the third kind, where occupants of UFOs are allegedly interacted with.

In 1975, Travis Walton with six colleagues that formed a seven man wood-cutting gang sighted a ‘disc-shaped object’ hovering above a forest in Sitgreaves National Park, Arizona. The UFO was said to be twenty feet wide and eight foot high and dark silver in colour. With curiosity getting the better of him Travis Walton ignored the pleas of his work mates and left the car to investigate.

Travis Walton’s colleagues witnessed a beam of intense blue light shoot out from the UFO and envelope Travis, flinging him back ten feet through the air. Scared and fearing that Travis Walton was now dead his colleagues drove off leaving Travis to his fate. Shortly after Travis Walton’s work mates regained their nerve and decided to turn around and go back for him, but when they returned there was no longer any sign of either Travis or the UFO.

After reporting the incident the wood-cutters were suspected of the murder of Travis Walton, but each undertook and passed a polygraph (lie detector) test, the results of which suggested that either they had seen or at the least believed that they had, the UFO. Five days after his disappearance Travis Walton’s brother-in-law received a phone call in which a weak sounding voice muttered “This is Travis, I’m in a phone booth at the Heber gas station, I need help, come and get me.”

As is often the case with alien encounters of the Fourth Kind Travis Walton was unable to remember what had occurred during the time that he had been missing, but undergoing ‘hypnotic regression’ he was able to recall being taken aboard the UFO and lying in a hospital like room being monitored by three alien entities that he described as being ‘large, with hairless heads and huge eyes’. It was supposedly following this that Travis later woke by the side of the highway about ten miles from where he and his colleagues originally witnessed the UFO.

There are theories about time meddlers. The time meddlers are much like the Observers in the TV show “Fringe” or the agents that appeared in the cult film The Adjustment Bureau. John Keel and UFO observer Kenneth Arnold called them “the Men in Black.”

The truth is the custodians — even the alien overseers of the program can pull the plug on the simulation at any moment, intervene or distance themselves from their simulation; watch as the simulated creatures argue about whether there is a god who controls of intervenes; work miracles or impose their ethical principles upon the simulated reality. All the time they can avoid having even a twinge of conscience about hurting anyone because their toy reality isn’t real, is it? They can even watch their simulated realities grow to a level of sophistication that allows them to simulate higher-order realities of their own.

Faced with these perplexities do we have any chance of winnowing fake realities from true?

What we might expect to see if we made scientific observations from within a simulated reality?

Eventually, the alien tinkering and refreshing would snowball and these realities would cease to compute. The only escape is if their creators intervene to patch up the problems one by one as they arise.

This would be the so called alien revealing – seen as an invasion and quite possibly a reboot of the system.

Let there be light.

Tonight, Clyde Lewis interviews James Gilliland, Grant Cameron, Travis Walton, and Jennifer Batten live from the UFO Fest in McMinnville, OR, and ponders the possibility that we live in an artificial hologram created by aliens.
