it isn’t only guns and knives we’ve got to put away

it’s the crazy rage inside us to do each other harm

and when we’ve gotten over that then we will disarm

Take a long hard look, do you like what you see?

We see our people crying and dying in the streets

we feel the pain and hopelessness the violence so deep

where are all the values we once based our lives upon?

while we’re lusting for possessions babe our spirit’s been undone

Look at all the leaders we choose to stand behind

who lie and break their promises then go and rob us blind

it’s such a sad reminder of the fools we have become
