Taking A Giant Peace

TAKING A GIANT PEACE

Immediately after the 9/11 attacks on the United States, you may remember that President Bush took to the podium and immediately schooled us about what is good and what is evil in the world.

It was a critical parent action in order for us all to understand that what just happened was an evil act. We had to be told that if you weren’t all in for the long haul wars then you were akin to a terrorist.

Bush declared that you were either with us the good guys, or with the bad guys or the terrorist. That was simple enough, we were attacked which was bad and we were going to fight back and that was good.

The term “bad guy” is the term parents use to describe criminals to their four year olds, on the premise that young children lack the capacity for any more nuanced understanding.

From there we are told that there are no real monsters in the world referring to mythical monsters so we won’t fear the dark. Then we are told that there is an “other” and that “other” does not value life like we Americans value life. The “other” becomes an enemy, the enemy is reduced to non-human status – they are even called monsters.

Then one day we realize that the longer we call others monsters, and hunt them down, torture and kill them we in turn become monsters and it is hard to define who the good guys and the bad guys are.

Then again what are monsters? Who are the monsters? The monsters are simply people that decide that they do not want to pretend anymore.

We are in transition from a relatively stable world, dominated by a handful of major powers, to something we cannot yet define. It seems clear, however, that there is a greater rapidity of change, accompanied inevitably by manipulation, cover- up and half truth. Some people don’t even know they are being lied to.

Those who rule in this country have such an advantage over us because we Americans have an attention deficit when it comes to history, compared to the rest of the world’s population. We also limit our resources for information. If the majority of Americans were to read periodicals published outside of the United States, you would see just how gullible we have become.

The media has been trying desperately to frame Vladimir Putin as a “bad guy” or a monster and I guess it can be said that being in the political profession you just can’t be too moral these days. Not one leader of a country is more moral than the other.

I guess you could say Putin is one of the world’s most “democratic” leaders, despite his numerous human rights violations – and if you are not looking at him with the American bias the media hopes you hang on too.

I know he is no saint – no leader is a boy scout.

All of them seem controlled by their own intelligence agencies. With Obama, it is the CIA and with Putin, it has always been the KGB.

Whichever “bad guys” you say are the worst of two evils will define your bias and yet the bias of hate or labeling of who is bad is never clearly defined, and literally rationalized by what acts of wickedness you choose to give a pass to.

It takes a huge peace to define just what “bad” is and we seem to lack the will to demand “peace.”

We are thriving on war and division and it will not hold for long. Soon, there will be no good guys – as is evident in the events that have transpired in the last few days with the battle over Syria.

It was reported today on both the European and American media that a number of cruise missiles launched from a Russian ship and aimed at targets in Syria have crashed in Iran.

Monitoring by U.S. military and intelligence assets has concluded at least four missiles crashed as they flew over Iran.

The U.S. believes, based on intelligence reports of damage assessments, that some buildings were damaged and civilians may have been hurt.

It’s unclear where in Iran the missiles landed. The Russian ships have been positioned in the south Caspian Sea, meaning the likely flight path for missiles into Syria would cross over both Iran and Iraq.

What is interesting is Iran, the country we want to make that nuclear deal with, described the reports of missiles landing in Iran as “psychological operations by the US against Moscow.”

Now that we are seeing collateral damage from misfiring and mistakes, we are realizing no one is safe in a world of psychopaths that wish to sling powerful arrows at their enemies.

In Yemen it was reported airstrikes hit a wedding celebration, killing at least 30 people. Official say they do not know who is responsible. However, that does not mean they aren’t speculating.

Human rights groups have accused the Saudi coalition of conducting indiscriminate airstrikes and unnecessarily endangering the civilian population.

We must also acknowledge the United States provides Saudi Arabia with targeting assistance and bombs.

We once again see the lines blur over who the good guys or the bad guys are.

On October 3rd, a U.S. airstrike in the Afghan city of Kunduz killed at least 19 people at a hospital run by international medical-aid organization, Doctors Without Borders.

While it is tragedy to be sure, Barack Obama was only capable of mustering a simple, I’m sorry for the incident.

The move marked a reversal from the White House position a day earlier, when it was indicated the U.S. wouldn’t formally apologize for the airstrike until several investigations into the incident had made more progress.

Army General John Campbell, the commander of U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan, said he had directed U.S. forces to undergo training on military rules of engagement, to prevent similar mistakes in the future. General Campbell said the decision to strike was made within the U.S. chain of command, adding that the U.S. would never intentionally strike a hospital.

Doctors Without Borders, also known by the acronym for its French name, MSF, has sharply criticized the U.S. for the airstrike, calling it a war crime and demanding an independent investigation.

I think this about sums up Barack Obama’s foreign policy and his hypocrisy when he speaks all tough on how firearms kill people at home. He has bigger weapons that can be used to kill, and wants to disarm American citizens. He will be speaking to the residents of Roseburg, Oregon, where a student at Umpqua Community college shot and killed nine people and turned the gun on himself.

Not surprising, the people of Roseburg do not want him to even show his evil face there. I also wonder if Roseburg would welcome Jeb Bush after this so-called ‘good guy” said,

“Look, stuff happens. There’s always a crisis. And the impulse is always to do something, and it’s not necessarily the right thing to do.”

Things are getting so ugly and so shallow anymore we are either ‘toughening up” or we are being desensitized to the problem of evil in the world.

From the shootings in Oregon, to the deaths in Yemen and the dead doctors and patients at a European hospital in Afghanistan, the peace process that Barack Obama was said to be known for is a sham. American propaganda is misleading.

We can’t even see blood lusting vampires in our own country.

The whole idea of giving Obama a peace prize was all based on potential – it was expected of him but now it seems the expectations have been in vain.

When war hawks decry the bombing you know you have screwed up, and when a European hospital in Afghanistan, that has received the Nobel peace prize for its efforts is bombed there is really no way to spin this in favor of what the President has done.

This group of philanthropic physicians have raised hundreds of millions of dollars and deployed tens of thousands of aid workers and volunteers on missions of mercy, worldwide.

The drawback, however, is their vague support of world government that at least depends on who you get your political bias from. There are others who specify that the “without borders” means they are for decentralization.

In any case, lives were lost and we shake our heads once again and ask ourselves how we can be the good guys when our leadership is demonstrating they are the bad guys.

According to the International Committee of the Red Cross’s definitions, “making medical or religious personnel, medical units or medical transports the object of attack” is a war crime.

It is difficult to admit it at times but leave it to the media to spin everything in our favor. This is how we win in the propaganda game and this is why we are seeing other countries and the United Nations are hell-bent on scolding us and otherwise taking over our country.

For the longest time Americans have copped the attitude that they really don’t care what other countries thought of us. We have never had it so good, or so we think.

Have you ever honestly got that nagging feeling something is definitely wrong with what is happening in the world. Is it so wrong to speak against propaganda and stop having political pap cloud your thoughts about who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?

We have been saying for a long time that America is the best country in the world. I would agree because this land is where I was born. It is where I was educated, it is where I have worshiped and it is where veterans who have fought long and hard, did so to preserve what little freedom I have left.

However, I would tend to disagree about having a star spangled attitude when we lie to ourselves about being peace keepers and how everywhere outside of the United States is dangerous and that other countries treat life as cheap.

Have you ever wondered why many Americans are being diagnosed with depression?

It is with this depressive attitude that people who wouldn’t normally commit acts of murder point guns in people’s faces because they crack under the pressure of trying to measure up to a bar that is many miles out of reach.

Our country’s moral compass is now pointing to the utilitarian concept of “the ends justifies the means,” or what can be called justification theory or justification bias.

With this part of our normalcy bias comes the assertion that a “good” end is justified by any means necessary, however bad or evil it might be.

In an immediate Godwin argument we tend to base our evil scale against Hitler and his malevolent ways of creating the “Neu Ordnung” or New Order.

That belief has been interpreted many times in history. The Romans enslaved populations in order to bring “order” to the world; the Crusades forced people to accept Christianity in order to “save them;” Western nations preemptively started war in order to avert war; and innocent civilians have been killed and seen as “collateral damage” in bombings in order to kill the “bad guys.”

It becomes a dangerous moral slope when we embrace the “ends justifies the means.” Where are the limitations to the ends? Who defines them?

People out of fear tend to think if an authority says it is for their own good it must be. It has been shown that the mind can act irrationally during times of unrest or in times of stress.

It’s becoming disconcertingly clear that post-9/11 America has no trouble accepting soldiers patrolling our streets with military equipment and black helicopters. SWAT teams have been replaced with combat ready CERT teams, and soon, blue helmeted U.N. officials will be working with our communities to insure extremism will be kept out of our country through their Strong Cities Network.

If there’s a manual on how to create a crisis to fool the public, I’m sure it would say that it’s very important to plant false ideas when the public is in a vulnerable state. If the public is hit with crisis after crisis, people will demand a solution or some may flood the streets in civil disobedience. The deluge will allow an excuse for control. Once again, we will see “inferred justification” being used to allow the need for a Police State.

Most Americans are far removed from the idea that our government could be anything but a benevolent father figure. This type of attitude is the breeding ground for all sorts of state socialist policies. This would have been case regardless of who was at the helm of the country. The socialist “daddy state” creep is not the product of an Obama administration it is the agenda of the New World Order.

The agenda is clearly to get you to give up. The agendas are being created to persuade you to become a monster, a monster that no longer has morality, or the desire to be human.

They want you to become a monster that no longer needs to pretend.
