Matthew 16:18 The above scripture is incredible and I believe it is for both the body of Messiah and heralds the coming kingdom, as well as each of us individually. In other words the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church collectively and you and me individually.  This is a profound promise stated by our Messiah—the One Who Was Sent to us, to free us from the bondage of sin and death—that we shall prevail! It is a rallying cry to those of us who are oppressed, put down, and perhaps feel defeated by life. While we look around at the chaotic world in which we live, with heinous acts like the Genocide being practiced against Christians throughout the Middle East and elsewhere, or the Satanic beheadings being carried out by the drug Cartels just over our southern border, it is easy to think that the Fallen One is gaining the upper hand. In my opinion, we are living in a window of time unlike any other, as I believe we are in the last days. It is the time of The Fallen One, and I believe he is sending his dark agents out in the world to create some of the havoc we see manifesting now. However, even though Satan will seat his man, the Antichrist, who will be the literal fulfillment of the Seed of the Serpent, in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, it is the last gasp of a kingdom that will soon perish from this earth, for at least 1000 years. When Jesus uttered this statement, it was a declaration stated with certainty and finality. The gates of hell shall not prevail…. period! In closing todays Bun.  In Romans 7, Paul tells us that he does the things he does not want to do. In other words, Paul, like the rest of us sins. Thank God for Romans 8, as Paul declares that there is now no condemnation for those of us who are in messiah. While this is not an excuse to sin, it does point us to the one who died in our place, so that we may know grace and know grace more abundantly. Whatever is going on in our lives, when we fell pressed in and cornered, when it seems the enemy comes in like a flood, remember, the battle belongs to the Lord and the gates of hell shall not prevail against us!
