RIP Nick Menza: Former Megadeth Drummer Was Writing Memoir Featuring Beliefs on Aliens
Nick Menza, the former drummer for heavy metal band Megadeth, as well as a UFO witness and UFO Disclosure advocate, collapsed during a performance with his jazz trio in Los Angeles on May 21st, 2016, and died of a suspected heart attack. The musician was only 51. Fans and friends reacted to the tragic news online, expressing their love for the drummer and deep sadness over his passing. Megadeth’s lead singer and guitarist Dave Mustaine, who recently had a falling out with Menza, also had loving, kind words to say about his longtime friend and music partner.
Former Megadeth Drummer Nick Menza (July 23, 1964-May 21, 2016) Article Highlights
On June 14th, 2014, Menza posted a video of UFOs he saw over Studio City, California to his YouTube channel. The video showed several lights of different colors hovering and making different formations, and then zooming off at amazing speed:
The incredible footage was embraced by the UFO community, but also met with skepticism by some who accused Menza of creating a hoax video in order to promote his upcoming book release for a memoir that would include some information on UFOs and aliens, which the drummer believed were real.
Menza’s belief in aliens was even was rumored to cause a rift between him and Dave Mustaine, but not before the two released the song “Hangar 18,” which was about a facility at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base rumored to house the remains of the 1957 Roswell UFO crash. The music video for the song features a variety of fun fictional aliens, and the lyrics to the song depict a government cover-up: “Possibly I’ve seen too much. Hangar 18 I know too much.”
Nick Menza was not the only celebrity to speak out about UFOs, and specifically Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Texas UFOs just featured an article about former Blink 182 guitarist Tom Delonge and his plans to release a book on UFOs, and a quote made by former senator Barry Goldwater about the alleged UFO cover up happening at Wright-Patterson AFB: “Reportedly, a spaceship landed and it was all hushed up, quieted, and nobody ever heard much of it.”
“Rust in Peace” Nick Menza. From a fan and fellow believer, you will be sorely missed.
